They have amaaaaaazing food.
Apparently they're "closed for repairs" whatever the fuck THAT means.
What's made you sad today?
Alt. question: What tv channel/show should you be on and why?

UK airspace hasn't even been open 24 hours and already the previously clear skies over London are criss-crossed with contrail cirrus.
But on the plus side, my sister has managed to get back from the Czech Republic, and perhaps more urgently, my drummer has made it back from Holland, so our recording session may proceed as planned this weekend. WOO.
Have your loved ones come back to you from the far reaches of the globe? Or are you looking out the window resenting the iron birds that are dirtying our skies oncve more?

I know Apple are all about perceived obsolesence and making you want the new, "upgraded" version of the product you've already got about 3 months after it was brand new itself. But headphones designed to fling themselves out of the wearer's ear? That's just unbelievably cunty.
Grr. What cataclysmic design flaws have got your goat lately?

I was just wandering back to the office after lunch when a man leaned out of a white van (of course) and shouted at me ‘hey you in the blue coat, you’ve got beautiful eyes’, when I laughed and carried on walking he then shouted ‘and a lovely smile, what a great smile’… that was a slightly different approach to the usual ‘Oi love, tits, er… you’ve got tits! Love, ‘ere, tits’. So my question is this - What has surprised you recently?

So I've missed the deadline for registering to vote in the Election through being an absent-minded prick. I downloaded the form, filled it in, signed it, dated it, put it in an envelope, put in by the door and promptly forgot about it for eight days. I'm now trying to find out if I'm on the Electoral Roll in the probably vain hope that I haven't failed miserably at democracy.
Needless to say, I feel like a right bell-end. Although, it has to be said, there's absolutely nobody who really represents my political viewpoint anymore.
What do you predict to see in the new Government? I strongly suspect it's going to be a highly ineffective coalition of Libs and Labour. I don't think anybody wants Brown again, the proletariat doesn't want to see the Tories get into power and nobody thinks the Lib Dems are capable of the job.

I've started playing again the Monkey Island Series and they are as good as I remember. I'm so glad I bought them as a present to the bf.
I'm as well playing Wii and DS whenever I can. I truly miss the PS and Final Fantasy.
What are you playing now? Which video game would you recommend?

I'm going through a phase of reading layman's science books. I recently finished The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins, which was hard work but a nice insightful account of the history of evolutionary theory and the mechanics of natural selection. I've currently got my teeth right into Eating the Sun by Oliver Morton which is a fascinating history of the discoveries of how plants function and turn sunlight into energy, how they run the planet and how imbalance in ecosystems could be catastrophic for the planet. On order from Amazon is Parasite Rex by Carl Zimmer which is about the amazing parasites which inhabit our world. What're you reading?

so my question to you is, should I:
a) Whine like a little bitch about how this is all about THE MAN trying to keep me down and find some tedious loophole about how the pen the person used wasn't regulation colour and my car was pointing east and everyone knows cars pointing east can't get tickets.
b) Shut up and pay it, knowing that I was parked in a residents permit parking area without a residents permit.
or special option c) Pay it and claim it back on expenses and then invoice the client the cost as I was only parked there because I had to dig holes nearby.

What else has tickled you lately?
And yes, I realise that by the inclusion of the word "else" above I'm assuming that you laughed as hard at that joke as I did

"Gases"
or "Gasses"?
Apparently both are acceptable, but one of them just looks...wrong to me. My friend and I have just been debating this one (it's an exciting life I lead) - which one do you, oh grammatical pedants of b3ta, deem to be the correct one?
For those who (perhaps rightly) don't give a shit...erm, what's the best thing to put on chips?

stepping on corrugated cardboard. It just feels nice as it squishes under my feet, don't know why.
Tell me something non-sexual that you love doing. Nil points for bubble wrap, everyone loves that.
Or, if you're feeling negative you could tell me something that you hate the feel of, like rubbing cotton wool between your fingers.

My friend W has been losing to me quite a lot lately at dare poker. He has chosen to amalgamate all his outstanding dares into one massive dare, which I have now devised.
He's a 6'+ rugby player, so he has no trouble pulling. The very next time he does so and ends up in someone's room with sex clearly on the cards, he has to insist that he wants to put some music on. He must then play the song below on full volume. After doing so, he's free to do whatever he wants, except explain the dare.
Song (VERY NSFW)
Question - Too harsh?
P.S. He did fail to turn up to my 20th birthday pub crawl with no explanation, so it's also partly in revenge for that.

I thought you would like to know that the UK elections get some coverage in the Spanish newspapers.
This article is in Spanish, but the video is in English. It seems very promising, as some girls have decided to take the piss out of Cameron; I think you'll find it at least interesting.
BTW, you don't get as much news space as the USA election, which I think it's dreadful, don't you agree? My sister is living in NY and doesn't even know you're having an election soon.
Enjoy:

My eldest has just turned 18, but he still looks about 14. Consequently he doesn't stand a chance of getting served in a pub. He only has a birth certificate, an NUS card and his college ID card (both of which have his photo on). He doesn't have a passport or driving licence though. He's planning on going out at weekend to celebrate properly and is concerned he won't get served at all.
When I was his age, the most I needed was a birth certificate. Will he get served with what he has, or are they far stricter than they used to be?

The Researcher playing the part of Anne Robinson, to ensure that those of us who wanted to be on the show could cope with a bit of a ribbing, asked me if I was a Gok Wan impersonator.
What celebrities have you been compared to, looks-wise? You get extra points if they're of a different sexuality and ethnicity from you
