Bob turned up in the last thread and the thread suddenly died.
When was the last time you walked into a room and the conversation stopped?

Alt: If you had to buy a secret santa gift for a poster on OT, who would you want to buy for and what would you get them. Maximum spend, a tenner.

Alright?

I don't usually come on here in the evenings
But I'm bored OUT OF MY MIND. I'm at home coughing up not one, but two lungs and trying not to let my lab report descend into delirious feverish rambling.
I feel like death, the Doctor was NO HELP (see facebook status) and and I left sex and unopened Baked Alaska Ben and Jerrys back in Manchester. Cheer me up by convincing me how much shitter you life is than mine, please.

Alt: What genius ideas do you have for sweets that they haven't made yet? Entirely new ones or just variants on an existing theme, I'll allow both.

Ooh just caught up with a friend
who is currently living in Paris. We were able to swap amusing stories about dates gone wrong. She is the prettier, blonder and more German version of me, and her stories were accordingly more classy. What way have you been outclassed lately?

Alt Q: Comfort food that you usually have in the cupboard for times you can't be bothered to cook but still want food?

Unjustified new thread fuelled by crippling boredom and laziness
I heard, although ever since the event I've been trying to deny this, the new Black Eyed Peas single recently. It's called The Time and is unquestionably the single most unarguable instance of an abject creative void I've ever heard. It should be called The Time (if you pay for this you're effectively acquiescing to nothing original or interesting ever being recorded again).

What's got you into a lather lately?

Furthermore, could I possibly have used poncier language to express my distaste above? Not one person who listens to the Black Eyed Peas will be able to read that

Fucksocks!
Got my first speeding fine in the post today (been driving for 6 months).

Surely this is a right of passage?
Please tell me there's a silver lining.

What has ruined your day/week recently?

Whilst in the library earlier
Me and my mate spotted a fiver on the floor. We did what any poor students would do and bought twenty fags.
Then whilst walking down Northumberland Street in town we were asked to do a survey about Pringles, got taken to a little office and ate a load of them and answeered a few questions. We got given a tub of Pringles each and a quid for our troubles.

This could quite possibly be the best day of my life. What wins have you had lately?

New thread is new, shiney and unsullied.
Try and shock me.

Not long until lunch now. Whilst we're waiting, show, or tell me about a piece of modern art that you like.
Alternatively tell me about a rock and roll suicide.

I don't feel terribly well.
But tonight I am seeing Roky Erickson in Camden. I am torn between excitement at seeing a true pioneer performing his (fucking twisted) magical tunes, and excitement at getting back into bed afterwards.

A day of opposites. You?

Gilbert's not back yet : (

If he has carked it then he's had a good innings so it's not too bad but I would have liked to see his little fat face once more to say my goodbyes.

No question. Just comments.

New thread as people are starting to discuss football and it's annoying.
Gilbert hasn't turned up for his dinner which is like Jeff not turning up for free zider.

Should I worry?

That thread is too long for me to join in.
I'm having to do some work outside work hours. This happens to me very very rarely, but happens to others from my office an awful lot.

They don't seem to mind too much, whereas I tend to be massively resentful. Do you have to bring work home? Does it piss you off?

Alt: anyone heard any good new bands recently?

I've just watched Inception again and have to tip my hat to Mr Di Caprio
two brilliant films in one year, Inception and Shutter Island. Who's your favourite actor?

Alt Q: Anyone else stacked it on the ice/snow yet?

it's a bit slow on here today, where is everyone?
just when i really need help too. well, more than normal. so the real question, given that you can't answer the first if you are not here, is this:

i have to start drafting my final oxford piece, which is supposed to be a comedy play about dating. i am feeling about as inspired as a dry sponge and am therefore hoping to scrounge some truly comedy lines from you lot. has anyone had a particularly brilliant chat-up line, a desperately bad let-down line or other form of dumping (esp on a first/blind date), or otherwise got any surreal or other dating experiences? i promise to give you a cut of the royalties when the play hits broadway and the west end in 2012*.

* - play will never hit anything other than the desk or possibly bin of the examiner. percentage of royalties to be calculated by my accountant: colonel, dracula & co llp, not to exceed 0.000000001%. terms and conditions apply.

What new technological wonders are dazzling your world?
My tech savvy wunderlust was waning of late. I own a phone that has a 16 colour screen, my laptop is 5 yrs old, my mp3 player is actually a CD player, I don't own a games console and I don't have a kindle, but invested in a book shelf instead. I do have a flat screen tv, but behind the screen is a large box about the size of a small factory. Never the less it's still a flat screen. So with Christmas around the corner I thought it was the perfect excuse to get something interesting like a new phone or a kindle or something similarly useful. Just wondering what shiny bleep bleep bling everyone else has got?

ALT Q: How do you know when Gorgonzola cheese has gone off?

Nana just rang for a moan about the snow
I looked out of the window, and nope, nothing. We have frost, ice and freezing fog, but no snow.
Nana only lives 2 miles away. How odd.

What's made you guiltily happy today?

Generic Sunday Evening thread
Evening all!

I'm just enjoying a pint with a lovely young lady. I've had a great day today, and had a great night at the bash last night!

How has your weekend been?

I've had the best of all the naps this afternoon.
Have you had any unexpected wins today?

If you could ask anyone in the world any question, dead or alive, famous or personal to you...
who would you ask, and what would you ask them? They _have_ to awnser honestly.

// edit //

- One famous person who you admire
- One person who is/was close to you.
- One person from politics.
- One person from pre-20th century.

I went out last night, but I don't have a hangover.

Right I am watching Alien Vs Predator with my cat and he keeps looking at the telly
when the predator comes on and makes all his weird breathing noises, he seemed especially interested in the wood scenes. This has made me wonder if pet's see stuff on TV and get scared?

Alt Q: I have drunk and smoked too much haven't I?
