This is a link post Flashpoint - resurrecting old web games
BlueMaxima and their team have been archiving vintage web games and fixing them up, in anticipation of the Adobe Flash switch-off date at the end of 2020. Over 56,000 games and animations have already been preserved, including some from this very site. Relive the good old days of the internet!

This is a normal post it's like everyone in the 80s was solving rubix cubes in piano ties and shoulder padded miami vice jackets listening to flock of seagulls
I know blokes who went through their late teens in the 80s and spent most of it listening to old pink floyd and hendrix. Or wearing nothing but outdoor gear and spending most of the decade going bushwalking and cross country skiing every chance they got. I was a young bloke during the 80s and 90s and I couldn't generalise about what the fuck they were about. Different people did different things according to their interests and circumstances. so I reckon the 50s and 60s might have had similar variety, and all changed at different speeds. he was born with the war a few years left to run, so not quite a boomer, but he has a good memory, for his sins. He reckons the big change in society he recalls from those years was tv, which only came to Australia in 56 with the olympics. A lot of people stopped reading books for entertainment, more's the pity, and started copying things they saw on telly, which was mostly American dross.

This is a normal post I deal with fucking rakes of them at work.
The ones without masks don't really bother me, they might be legitimately exempt (although it's probably absolute bollocks). But the amount of bellends I see walking around with their noses poking out, or browsing stock with their mask on their chin just to pull it back up before they reach the counter is unbelievable. Then you've got the idiots that pull their masks down to talk to you.
Honest to fuck, I'm at the point now where I feel the best course of action would just be to resume normal operating procedure and let the weak fucking die. We don't know if we'll ever see a viable vaccine, or whether the virus becomes seasonal and ends up basically being some new super Flu, for want of a better comparison.
Once the kids go back to school and begin coughing all over each other and taking the virus home with them, cases are going to fucking explode again. Recent news reports have confirmed that the British are too fucking selfish and ignorant as a society to do what they need to do in order to contain the virus, so let's just fucking have it, I say.

Christ knows if we somehow do manage to overcome this particular little bundle of parasitic matter, it'll only be a matter of time before nature brews up a more efficient strain in order to cut back our numbers a bit.

I'll continue to follow government advice, I'm a bit of a cunt, but I'm not a total bellend. But honestly, it just feels like we're postponing the inevitable at this point.

This is a normal post In March, I remember am old lady coughing every two steps
I'm pretty sure my dad caught it in the ASDA/ASDA opticians early March.
Brutal brutal thing.
Despite the massive death toll there are so many people who haven't lost someone so have just found the whole thing an inconvenience. And I'm aghast that some are keeping themselves occupied at the moment with conspiracy theories.
I have some faith in a vaccine coming, but that while field needs to progress a quantum leap from where it's at. I worked in virology early on in my career, and progress has been linear since then. We had a tiny financial boost with hn51, I think it was. Everything is very reactive and understated.

Total rest and recovery is to be taken very seriously.
