and most years you'd get one or two days at least. Everything shuts down. EDs were jampacked with injuries, you get boneheads like the above that don't seem to have heard about snow tires, chains and often antifreeze. but it stretches to things like building design. I was in a hotel in plymouth my company put me up in who on the coldest day of the year had no hot water because the pipes had frozen

After the plymouth debacle, I had to give some presentation on the way back but i'm fucked if I can remember the name of the place, or even whether it was devon or somerset. I just remember getting off the train, with light snow falling, and discovering the actual town was in the distance on the other side of a small valley with open fields. It was a cute market town, medium to small sized. no luck so far

Those tyre socks you get at Halfords are the bollox. Put them on my VW Up! last time it snowed properly in the midlands and was driving round stuck 4x4s. They are honestly brilliant and well worth the money to keep around, and they're not destructive to the road or driveways either.
