Do you know which 90s indie bands are still going in the year of our lord 2026?

I was thrown off by the distress caused by question 2 when I learned that the fucking Supernaturals are still a going concern.

London live show in Feb this year wasn't bad either.

Might be a Firefox thing.

It was built using Firefox, so that's the least likely to have a problem.

I mean I've got uBlock origin and Privacy Badger, but apart from that it's stock.
Works fine in Edge though.
Edit - it's Privacy Badger. Disabled that and everything worked.

Bit easy.
(My local big venue has had most extant 90s bands pass through it over the last few years, which probably helped.)

Did a decent job of showing how massively fucking inconvenient living with Tourettes is, but focused far too much on the fact that John's parents are/were cunts and not nearly enough on the work he's done as a campaigner in later life.
Essentially just a dramatisation of the vastly superior documentary. Besides the last 20 or so minutes, the whole thing is essentially just a series of funny/sad skits about Tourettes
Maxine Peake's Scoatish accent is fucking disgraceful. Peter Mullen felt underused. Dot's cancer storyline felt utterly irrelevant in the context of the feature film and a lot of the other situations felt like they were shoehorned in just because they're things that happened.
Would have been a far better film if they had condensed his early life into the first half, got rid of the drugs/slut/crowbar/cancer bollocks and dedicated the whole second half to his campaigning.
Still, miles better than Dead Man's Wire. Couldn't even finish that steaming turd.

I read an article about the future production of handpans (which seem to be quite popular these days) is under threat beacuse of these original Swiss made Hang drums.

and how people behave in practice, and hence why police take a very laissez faire attitude to enforcement. That's why they generally don't fine children for cycling on the pavement to school (Rule 64 of the Highway Code), and why most cyclists don't exercise their right to block off a lane of traffic and hold all the cars up. So they're certainly not assigning detectives to track down youtube cycling posters, no matter the sanctimony it generates
(, Thu 26 Feb 2026, 2:32, Reply)
All the evidence is there and he put his name on it. Were I going to break the law; and judging by the location, the Highway Code doesn't apply; I wouldn't post incriminating videos on the internet for anyone (just to make sure that you understand, I mean the police) to find. Do you know what sanctimonious means, or were you not applying it to me?
(, Thu 26 Feb 2026, 23:37, Reply)
bit like how they dont prosecute drivers who fail to give 1.5m of space if overtaking cyclists as required by the highway code, nor the endless vids of them doing this with their licences plates visible. Or jaywalking.
Sanctimony in this instance is being critical or condemnatory with the inference of moral or ethical superiority, e.g. b3ta.com/links/1630356. In my view it's the dopamine hit this gives people that drives the majority of internet comment.
(, Fri 27 Feb 2026, 4:12, Reply)
And a bicycle commuter for half of that.
But unlike the insufferable cunt in this video, I obey the Highway Code. Will it increase my social standing with other road users? Probably not, but that's only because cunts like the bloke in the video exist and drive a negativity bias towards all cyclists.

Is that if you going to develop anything approaching AI you need to put in guardrails so that it's forced as part of its programming to value human life as paramount. Otherwise you're going to get solutions like this as the optimal way to solve a given problem. Valuing your own kind is an irrational, emotional drive of our semi-evolved monkey brain goo, not a logical precept that emerges out of data synthesis. Or more accurately, we need to pressure government to force these tech bros to do it, as they won't voluntarily in their trillion dollar race to AI everything

(, Mon 23 Feb 2026, 20:32, Reply)
I can totally sympathise with Foxx and Pierce's immediate discomfort at having such a specifically targeted insult yelled at them from the audience, but Foxx's doubling down is typical of his attitude in general. He probably got a bit of a semi at the thought of leveraging the incident in his favour.

I'm laughing at the Beeb trying so desperately to be seen as inclusive that they ended up tying themselves in knots rather than do the obviously right thing.
It's a shit situation to find yourselves in, but if you can find the time to edit out the words "Free Palestine", you can obviously edit this too. That they chose not to is... interesting.

He calls out the most offensive thing possible, he told me. He has no filters, his words, just says the most offensive thing that comes into his head. If you're bald, he goes for it; I you're fat, goes for it; black; effete; whatever. Unless he likes you. He holds very different political views to me but we get along fine and he has never been "rude" to me.
