I intended to go to bed at about 11, but I've been buried in this for the last couple of hours. Yes its subjective and misses some obvious ones, but it is stunningly researched and he's got to talk to the original creators on a surprising number of them.

and Starbug and the Tardis? ffs... one was designed to look shit, and the other isn't even a spaceship.
and where is the one that looks like a set of boobs? forget the movie's name... pretty sure it was flown by John Boy Walton though... anyone?
( , Mon 28 Feb 2011, 6:23, Reply)

But I don't remember John Boy being in that!!
( , Mon 28 Feb 2011, 8:19, Reply)

...Battle Beyond the Stars. It's mentioned briefly in this entry.

a spaceship that looks like a pair of boobs (however I don't think it shot from the nips, might be wrong...) fails to get into the top 75
( , Mon 28 Feb 2011, 12:24, Reply)

And if you'll notice its approaching each of the ships very much from a design aspect then I'd say Starbug is very successful. It was intended to look shit and does. Job done.

it doesn't make my scooter a spaceship though... well, in my head it is sometimes...

EDIT No Defiant? Or any Bab 5 at all?
( , Mon 28 Feb 2011, 10:26, Reply)

Missing some obvious ones.
I could understand not including the Omega Destroyers as they're very similar design to the Leonov which is in there. No love for the Vorlons, Shadows or Minbari Cruisers seems a bit odd though.
Defiant? Well its pretty similar to the Enterprise variants which are covered in the Enterprise bit to be honest.

"Hmm, guys ride bikes in an illegal and unsafe manner as a form of protest, guy drives car through them in an illegal and unsafe manner as a form of counter-protest. Lots of blame to go around, people."

I clicked that thinking the comments were jokey & it was going to be a cute vid. That's horrible- does anyone have a link to what happened next- as in: have they caught the bloke? And why did he do it?!
( , Mon 28 Feb 2011, 9:37, Reply)

Cyclists are upset because the media and police are insisting on calling it an "accident".
More info here.

I saw that link on google, but didn't click, as I assumed it was just the vid.
And I really didn't want to see it again.

evening all
with apologies as this has most likely be done elsewhere and I know my web-design is crap (but I've only been learning a tiny bit at a time...long way to go!) I thought you may like to see this - a nice guide to what the Daily Mail (boo) says gives you cancer.
Enjoy - please be gentle! :)

you use the istyosty.com/ proxy so the mail gets no ad revenue from clicks from your site, but it seems to be down for me at the moment.

Right, I did this, and may have posted it a year ago. Then the BBC, and loads of production companies found it funny and said they'd make it big. no-one did, weirdly enough. I just re-read it, and it made me laugh, so thought it not out of order to bang it here. Comment, blah blah.

Featuring the legendary Mr. Trebus and his wonderfully delivered catchphrase of "Stick it up your chuffer". John Peel perfectly picked as the narrator of the show.
( , Sun 27 Feb 2011, 20:30, Reply)

From what I remember, the man from the council did actually stick the scaffolding (or at least a small section of it) up his chuffer as it was one of Mr. Trebus' final wishes.
It was a nice thing to do, but I do wonder if he would have bothered if Mr. Trebus' case hadn't been featured on television.
