Uh Oh.
My laptop doesn't seem to reading me external hard drive. I have 2000 albums I can't access. Is this the divine hand of karma telling me I've been too liberal with my downloading habits? Or did I drop it last night when I was pissed?

Uh-oh...
I think I'm still drunk.
I shouldn't have done that, but I could have done worse.

I'm sat at home, shaking like fuck. Talk about totally fucking things up.
I needed to get out of my apartment tonight, so drove down to my favourite karaoke bar that's also a Mexican restaurant. Food was amazing, fun times were had singing shite songs and just....goood times in general.
Couldn't get a cab for an hour, so I stupidly drove home after around 6 beers. Sure, it's only less than a mile. But duh!!!! I'm a fucking idiot. I feel so lucky right now that I a) didn't hit anyone b) got home in one piece c) didn't get a DUI.

What's the last most idiotic fucking thing you've done?

And don't flame me. I understand I'm a moron for driving home, but believe me, now I am home I'm shaking like a leaf asking myself what the fuck.

I've just finished Reading the first story in a book about dogs at war, this is the first one (but the story is written as a story and not a wiki artical)
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gander_(dog)?wasRedirected=true

it so has reinforced my love of dogs.

OT, I need advice!
when e-mailing someone you don't know, when is it appropriate to talk about corpse-puppetry? I hoping the third e-mail, because that's what I did after I drank too much coffee. Was this too soon?

alternatively - what's your favourite bread product? Right now, mine is naan bread.

HOLY SHIT!
I was sitting here at my computer in the front room when I heard the most godawful screaming from my cockateil in the next room, accompanied by frantic flapping and cage-rattling.

I ran in just in time to see a red tail hawk sitting on the porch railing, eyeing Tiffany as though she were a cocktail shrimp.

No wonder poor Tiffany was freaked!

I then spent about ten minutes with her on my shoulder, reassuring her that no one was going to eat her. I even kicked away a cat in the process.

What's the story with never buying the second album?
As evidenced in this weeks QOTW re: Pearl Jam, The Strokes, Interpol etc

You could be forgiven for only ever buying the first Oasis album, mind and yet, half the world owns their entire catalogue.

Prees to esplain???

thanks

There was a programme on Sky 3 last night called Fat pets.
There is nothing in this world funnier than a cat that is wider than it is long. The owner, (who was in his sixties), was trying to get the cat to exercise by throwing various cat toys as it. It looked at him with utter contempt.

I'm going to bring this subject up one last time as I find it amusing
but I'm not trying to bully anyone and I would appreciate it if any mods think I'm being too offensive then just tell me and I'll remove this post, I don't want another ban, I learnt my lesson last time, thanks.

Anyway, my point is that the people who get all upset about other people saying they don't like a certain members posts have not contributed money to the website they like to defend with such hysterical vitriol, and indeed, neither has the poster that people like to moan about.

Now I'm not suggesting that paying should get you special treatment, but in general the people that have been moaning (and I admit I was one of them a while back, though more recently I've just ignored it) are people that have paid money to keep the website they like running.

Which reminds me, I should pay some more money.

Weekend thread
I'm off to Oxford tonight to see Miike Snow with my best mate. Daughter's going to see her brother and sister tomorrow so I'll probably lounge around in my pants and play Plant vs Zombies all the way through (again). What awesomeness are you filling your weekend with?

Hi I'm a PC and the iPad was my idea
Excuse the poor video www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrOIPkOv2KE but if I can make this for under £200 whilst at the same time being a drunken waster, a parent, a bad husband and working. Why can't apple make one with Flash, USB, Multi Tasking ect?

So iPad? In you opinion is it going to be huge? I think I'd rather have the iPhone and I don't even want one of those. My ipaq with a WM6.5 upgrade does more.

On a lighter, less Stalinist note
I've just had a bowl of those mini Weetabix. Not just the plain ones, the ones with chocolate chips*.

So, how fantastic as your morning been so far?

*They were on offer, £1 a box in Asda, so I bought 6 boxes. Go while the offer's still on. Go now, Go on. Now, before they sell out. Are you still here?

On banning people for slagging off other people on QOTW
OK, I got a bit pissed off with the whole slagging-off-other-members-because-their-QOTW-stories-may-or-may-not-be-fiction thing and might have implied that I would swing my Mod's Ban Hammer (2d20, double damage) at a few skulls.

Ain't gonna happen. I hate modding people's accounts, especially for low-level stuff like this.

We DON'T CARE if people's QOTWs are fake. We don't care if a finely-crafted, very funny story might be a bit of a porky. The joke's the thing, and it's fair to say that most of the best tales have been somewhat exaggerated in the telling. I know mine have.

So. Nobody's going to get banned, but PLEASE [touchy-feely bit coming up] think of the consequences before you publish. We're sensitive artist types round here. We hate criticism.

We shall SPEAK NO MORE OF THIS THING.

I'm about to give my little brother the best present I can think of
He turned 25 yesterday. He's coming home from uni very soon tonight because the experience of uni is frazzling his mind. He's a troubled kid.

I'm going to give him ownership rights on any piece on vinyl in my record collection. Bear in mind that he knows well that there are some £100 pieces in there and they're the ones I'd be most sorry to see go. But I feel really sorry for him. He's not coping with shit at all, despite being the nicest kid ever. I call him a kid because he acts very young for his age and is 5' 3" into the bargain. I hope he chooses something expensive.

How have you been altruistic, recently?

I'm in a net cafe.
There's an absolute NUTTER at the counter, talking nonsense. He's just shouted "I'm going to rape your arse at the guy serving. I'm actually getting freaked out. When did you last see a bus station loony?

Edit. he's been here over an hour asking how his mobile charger works.

If your other half or last gf/bf was a car, what kind would they be?
Also, what are the best/worst you've ever "driven"? It can be any vehicle at all - my worst was a milk float (self-expanatory) and I once had a Ferrari Testarossa, but ultimately he had shit fuel consumption and was too costly to insure.
Or, if you were a car, what would you be and why?
