It's the Americans who drag out an idea long past the point where the humour has evaporated and there's naught left but fart jokes and canned laughter. We're the ones who do a dozen or so episodes then murder the lead actor and burn down the sets.

# Aaah gotcha.
I like the John Glenn quote - "I felt exactly how you would feel if you were getting ready to launch and knew you were sitting on top of two million parts - all built by the lowest bidder on a government contract."

"Space", by James Michener, is a really good read if you're into this sort of thing. I think he goes into quite some depth on the supply chain headaches of getting so many components with micrometric tolerances, all built by hundreds of different manufacturers spread across the US, to actually fit together. In hindsight it's amazing the things even got off the ground.

Everybody brings cigs, so what are you going to trade for cigs? More cigs?

I bring gourmet chocolate and sardines.

Usually exchanged for washing my clothes, pots of real coffee from the chef etc.

I dare not imagine what Tabs would ask for.
