and start a farm, coin it in with your increased probability round eggs

soaking an egg in vinegar to soften the shell and gently forcing the softened egg into a spherical mould.
And if that doesn't work, I'd try
soaking a bunch of eggs in vinegar to fully dissolve their shells
collecting the vinegar/eggshell solution, separating the vinegar as much as possible
half boil one of your rubbery no-shell eggs inside the spherical mould
reapply the shell solution to the now spherical egg (somehow).
and if that doesn't work I'd try waiting.
Anyway can you do one of those handstand press-ups yet?

Half of an egg shell is spherical anyway, the half which goes into the cup.

If you really want to mess with people's heads:-
i Inject a flavour into an egg and seal before boiling (allow to diffuse).
ii Watch the cognitive dissonance as they tuck into a cherry flavour egg.
iii Run away giggling.
(, Fri 30 Jan 2026, 0:21, Reply)
It's not a wind up. A normal egg isn’t spherical at either end - it’s an ovoid with continuously changing curvature. Even the rounder end isn’t a hemisphere, which is why standard egg cups rely on friction rather than geometric fit. That's by the by though - I'm making an egg cup that will fit a spherical egg perfectly, as my (now rotted) round egg does not fit in a 'normal' egg cup (as demonstrated by my tests). Pointless - probably. A wind up - absolutely not.

Isn't this what the tuners on the head do?
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 10:12, Reply)
Please assume for the sake of brevity I'm describing *ideal* materials and perfectly spherical cows.
With machine head tuning the distance between bridge and nut (defining the open string length) remains constant. At the other end, those bridge saddles finely adjust the bridge-nut distance per string while having negligible effect on the tension.
As you tighten the string there's less of it exposed so you can say *its* length has changed - but only over a given, constant distance. The bridge-nut length has not changed, nor has the distance between nut and tuning peg, only the angle of rotation of the tuning peg itself (which the string will always take the same approach to). The strings stretch and compress but they cover the same distance, so we call that a change in tension. Pressing the frets will change the functional string length, but with only negligible change to the tension.

Y’all should be laughing at my photographers walking int a bar joke instead.
b3ta.com/questions/imsorryivewrittenajoke/post2639508
It’s based on a true story….
Me and my friend went into a bar around 2pm. The door was open, but the lights were off and they hadn’t officially opened yet. No problemo, we just put our backpacks down, grabbed a seat at the bar, and waited.
Eventually the bartender comes over to greet us. He extends his hand and introduces himself. We all shake hands and introduce ourselves too. And then he literally asked us what kind of shots we wanted to do. I told him we didn’t want shots, we came for your famous house-special lemon-basil martinis. Then there was a pause.
I asked if he was new here. He said he was. Then he asked us, “Aren’t you guys the photographers?”
It turns out they weren’t opening until 4pm that day because they were doing a promotional photo shoot, and our backpacks made him think it was our camera gear.
(, Wed 28 Jan 2026, 5:14, Reply)
It wasn't an execution, it was a bunch of poorly/non-trained jumpy fuckwits with power boners reacting erroneously to another poorly/non-trained jumpy fuckwit yelling "GUN GUN GUN!"
Did the bloke deserve to get shot? Fuck no. Would he have potentially avoided being shot if he had left his gun at home that day? Probably.
Nobody comes out of this looking good. Who the fuck are you planning to defend yourself from at a protest anyway? The numerous poorly/non-trained jumpy armed fuckwits? Other screamy protesters? The whole lot of them are fucking bellends.

My reply was more for Tony who seems to think that staying within the law is a good reason to make you culpable for being killed.
(, Wed 28 Jan 2026, 23:35, Reply)
Whether or not Pretti was within his legal rights as a Minnesotan are completely irrelevant. The fact still stands that taking a concealed firearm to a protest (a similar protest to that at which a fellow shouty liberal bellend got shot to death by another jumpy, poorly-trained fuckwit ICE agent) was at best, a really fucking stupid idea - evidenced by the fact he's now a not-so-shouty, very dead liberal bellend.
Permission doesn't necessitate irresponsibility. I'm perfectly within my rights to walk through Castlemilk draped in an England flag on St. Andrew's Day, but I'm not going to do that because I'm not a fucking idiot.
By all accounts, Pretti seems to have been a fine, upstanding member of society. I'm sure his death will be a greater loss to the local community than that of previous martyrs such as George Floyd (RIP) and Jacob Blake (RIP). But that doesn't detract from the fact that he was still a fucking moron for taking a firearm to a protest.
The fact that gun fetishisation is beginning to trickle down to the same groups of people that just a few years ago would have likely been campaigning for stricter gun control or the abolition of concealed carry laws speaks volumes about how fucked the USA is. Not just the Conservative population. All of them.
China must be absolutely edging themselves right now waiting for the full-blown civil war to kick off so they can push on with invading Europe without America's interference.
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 6:48, Reply)
So being a "fine, upstanding member of society" acting completely "within his legal rights as a Minnesotan" and being far less armed than many right wing protestors makes you a "fucking moron" "liberal bellend" who should know better...
It's not illegal to be a moron, and it should not mean a death sentence from federal employees. If it were, Trump would not have been voted in for sure.
Guess the only solution for the current global political landscape is for the UK to fully rejoin the EU and for the EU to become federal. Starmer is in China right now, having what are described by both sides as very productive talks. Wonder how you are going to spin that to fit your mental worldview?
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 10:41, Reply)
Probably not the type of person that should carry a firearm in public, really. Although, that probably goes for more than half of American gun owners, so you can't hold that against him, I suppose.
And again, since you seem to have trouble parsing my previous posts on the subject, I don't think he deserved to die. I simply suspect he could have likely avoided dying by leaving his gun at home, like a good boy.
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 10:48, Reply)
This is the important thing to focus on, and not that 5 masked government agents pinnned down a citizen in the street, removed his holstered weapon, then executed him by shooting him 10 times, followed by the government immediately releasing a completely invented false narrative before any investigation that was quickly contradicted by the video evidence, for the second time in as many weeks, and all this happened without any consequences for those involved or those who lied.
I go on a nice (bakingly hot) summer holiday to return to Tony jizzing his rightwing talking points over links

That's liberal screamy emosh hyperbole.
Also, criticising lefties doesn't automatically make you right-wing. You've learned that approach from too much social media exposure, I suspect. Believe it or not, it's still possible to be critical of both sides.
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 11:36, Reply)
what do you call right wing people?
And what do you have to say that is critical of right wing people?
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 12:49, Reply)
They're also the ones quickest to polarise the issue and forget/ignore the middle ground.
Left/right-leaning is fine. It's a sliding scale at the end of the day, not two sides of a coin, but the further you get to one extreme or the other, the more moronic and blinkered you become.
The radical left assume they're superior, the radical right assume they're superior, and any identification or sympathy directed towards the 'baddies' automatically makes you a traitor or a shill.
This excessive, hardline partisanship we've adopted from America is going to be our ruin. Fuck me, we've already got groups of the bellends marching on Trafalgar Square, painting St George's Crosses on roundabouts and idolising Charlie Kirk
The kneejerk reaction that you and My Name had to my opinion of the situation and your willingness to label the shooting an 'execution' shows the same kind of radicalisation, just towards the other extreme.
And let's not forget that the left are pushing the Ideal Victim narrative in favour of Alex Pretti just as hard (if not harder) while the right are pushing the 'Leftist Proto-terrorist' angle. The truth is almost always somewhere in the middle.
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 13:18, Reply)
and I never said they executed him, I said "they just break the law, killing with impunity". My main point was that the dead guy did nothing illegal and idiotic or not, what he did do "should not mean a death sentence from federal employees".
That seems to get you upset for some reason, and I do not regard it as a knee jerk reaction personally. If you're not upset, you're making rather long posts for someone who isn't...
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 15:39, Reply)
Executed specifically means to carry out a death sentence imposed by a legal authority as punishment for a crime and the most recent guy hadn't done anything illegal at all. Execution occurs within a legal system where the person has typically been convicted of a crime, and there was no judge or jury, no legal process, he was just gunned down in the street.
Which of course makes it even worse than if he had been executed. Thank you for making the point that calling it execution is watering down what actually happened.
The term "executed" carries the connotation of official, sanctioned killing following due process, which distinguishes it from murder, so therefore it was murder.

This irrelevant victim blaming is exactly what magaworld is trying to shift the focus to right now to distract from the grim reality. Also you seem to have missed the second paragraph of that reply you linked as part of your totally bodacious gotcha. Never mind, eh? It's hard to read through tears, sometimes. Maybe it'll help if it's in bold?
'That's not to say that having a higher than average incidence of hate crime is justification for invasion by another nation with equally low (if not, lower) tolerance of people that look, speak, fuck or pray differently. But still, it's maybe important to realise that being bombed doesn't make you any less of a cunt. They *absolutely* don't deserve the bollocking they've been on the receiving end of. But it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.'
You're falling for the Ideal Victim game, again.
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 13:20, Reply)
I don't like dictatorships, so I guess that makes me left wing. the reason I don't like that them is they're unaccountable. It doesn't matter if they fuck up, lie, do awful shit. there's not a damn thing you can do about it, and if you pipe up you face consequences. I prefer democracies, and as a student of history I know how hard fought most of those gains were that a generation of fucking clueless incel dipsticks with chips on their shoulders are now pissing away
so masked government operatives killing people with impunity and without consequence, and an adminstration that's willing to tell bald faced lies to the public seems like a step in that direction, along with several others they've taken. I'm not particularly interested in the victims backstories, whether they morally deserved it or not or might have avoided death if they had parted their hair in a different way that morning. My concern is why are there are masked poorly trained armed government agents on the streets with such powers? Why aren't their proper investigations and consequence in what seems like an obvious abuses that resulted in the death of citizens. Why aren't there consequence when a government tells obvious lies they know are lies to the public?
These seem more pertinent than your opinion that him carrying a holstered weapon, in a nation with 100 million registered gun owners, somehow means he contributed to his own death. An opinion bouncing around fox news at the moment, quite funny given their rabid second amendment defence over the years, but shameless hypocrisy never bothered them before, and there's plenty that'll regurgitate their talking points, even here
(, Thu 29 Jan 2026, 15:11, Reply)
