WiiU
First impressions? I'm not bowled over. Once Ninty get their marketing claws into me over the next few months, with videos and decent demonstrations of the hardware and controller I'll be queuing up on launch day like a lot of kids.
I'm just glad that the Gamecube and Wii controllers are compatible.

It's not worth anything without games to play.
Wii didn't exactly have a lot of 'must have' games. Maybe, 5 or 6 at the most.

Right now I'm not planning on taking the plunge
I've had my fingers burnt buying the Gamecube and Wii to then not play them due to a lack of games I like. I suspect this will be the same.

So feel I got my moneys worth. I'm definitely a casual type of gamer though so suits me down to the ground

I'm very excited about this...
I think the name is crap and I'm keen to get an actual look at the specs, but this looks like a nice concept with a ton of potential. I worry about the strategy to try and be all things to all people, the XBox has moved in that direction and found itself in an awkward position. Nonetheless, if Nintendo can genuinely deliver on the promise of more hardcore titles then I'm sold.

I like the idea of having a second screen on hand for maps, inventories, etc
Hopefully there'll be some decent RPG and Strategy games that can be played from the sofa

Playstation move predates the wii (it was part of the early version of Eyetoy)
and the Eyetoy obviously predates the kinect
but I'm not being a ps3 fanboy there.
Just don't think any platform has done anything revolutionary that worked (and wasn't just a peripheral selling gimmick) in a very long time

I find it hard to get exited by the upcomming generation of consoles
Xbox 360 had 3 die on me, PS3 had one die and all my details nicked in the hack, wii.... well that lasted.
Not bought a wii game in years though since wii fit demoralised me into a dark fat funk though.
Now discovering the simple joys of P.C gaming on steam. Games are chip as chips there.

3 Xboxes, 2 PS2's, and innumerable of the newer Apple products lately, all just keep bloody failing,
could someone remind the industry it's nice if the damn things work!? I've certainly lost all faith in Apple in the last few years for certain, their USP now just seems to be 'Look, it's by us!', altho their various iPod's and iTunes still seem to work lovely together.
I think my fave consoles are the Xbox 360 (second hand ones now) and the original PS1, I dunno why I've got a soft spot for the last one but I would guess 'cos it was my first console crush and playing it again always takes me back.
I can't think of anything I've heard of I've gotten excited about since the 3D DS but even then I'm not interested enough to actually want one, I just wanna see one going and see what it's like.

If it's still under warranty neither will I
and they stump up the costs of replacing it numerous times!
After that, well they get nowt back off'of second hand sales and I wouldn't be daft enough to buy another new one, so can't see it working well as general policy, really.

Really excited for this.
While I don't love everything Ninty do, as long as they keep making Zelda games I'll always be interested. They have some excellent franchises and they're never afraid to do unusual, unexpected things with them. Despite their foray into the casual market in more recent times, they are definitely the most innovative of the 'big three'.

I stopped for a few reasons
the main one being it got very expensive for zero service, they seem to think so long as one wall is flickering with pictures you should be grateful and shut the fuck up, who cares if it's out of focus or it smells of shit in here, what do you expect, a nice night out or something!?
Since all the huge multiplexes have taken over your lucky if you SEE staff once you've paid your money and if some cunts texting, beeping, chatting and generally shitting all over the movie, you have 2 choices: fight them or ignore them.
Neither is what I just paid 8 fucking quid for.
I still brave it now and then but I go for late night showings midweek as they tend to be a lot quieter and there's less ice cream and gum on the seats, but if they all had decent policies of ejecting twats who don't know how to respect their fellow man in crowd situations like these guys do I might start giving them my money regularly again!

Oh god yes.
Last film I saw in the 'proper' cinema was Tim Burton's Alice (in 3D).
Two tickets = virtually no change from £20.
And it wasn't proper 3D.
(I'm waiting until "Attack the Block" comes to the Cube (one of Bristol's many little arty cinemas))

I seem to remember reading
that the cinemas don't get much say in how tickets are priced (hence the huge mark up on snacks) though whether that's true or just an excuse I'm not entirely sure.
Unfortunately my nearest cinema now assigns you seat numbers which makes it trickier to avoid being sat next to or behind someone with no consideration for others. The last film I saw was Source Code and the girl next to me spent the entire time sending text messages only to proclaim to her friends at the end of it that she hadn't understood any of the film whatsoever. Gah.

RE the last point
WHY do they go!? Is it purely to annoy everyone? Are they REALLY that lacking in any attention a room full of people cursing their very existence to them is better than nothing!?
Same as folks sticking their speakers in the windows and taking a can of lager out to wait for the first person to ask them to turn it down so they can have a fight about it; or wankers who make their tiny pathetic vehicle make as much noise as humanly possible so everyone notices them and what a shite vehicle it really is, I mean, GET A FUCKING LIFE!

Her friends seemed to have been paying attention, at any rate,
so I can only guess she just tagged along but wasn't really interested in the film. Judging by the price of tickets I'd have thought that they'd at least try to make an effort to enjoy it, though, and certainly not disrupt things for others.
I really can't understand people who persist in their behaviour when asked - repeatedly - to stop, but I guess we'll just have to live with them.

It's a bit late, sorry,
but I rather enjoyed it. It's definitely one I'd like to pick up for repeated viewings as I'm sure there's stuff I missed.

i always wept when i had to pay £9.20 to see X-men on Sunday
I don't have much money and it's quite a bit for 2 hours of entertainment. Please have some consideration!
Same with gigs too. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people that they can't go 15 minutes without checking their phones or talking?
I miss the Little Theatre in Bath :( stupid Odeon...
