What's in a name?
My next door neighbour had a small black cat named (yawn) Sooty. However, the cat started to jump onto the worktops while she was preparing food and steal bits of chicken etc. Cat was swiftly renamed Scouse.

Anyone else have particularly appropriate names for their pets?

So yeah, I totally just fell down the stairs in front of the entire lecture theatre. Sometimes I'm just so damn cool it actually hurts.

On the plus side, it was a nice conversation starter with a rather attractive guy I've been checking out for a while, when he came over to ask if I was ok.

Could anyone recommend a documentary on employee rights suitable for 16 year olds? I'm doing a presentation on Employee/Employer Rights and Responsibilities and need a bit of video filler to keep the young 'uns entertained.

I was entering my tube station this evening when a guy walked over and asked if I was Becky from B3ta? I'm ashamed to say I mumbled "What?...er no" and shambled off instead of proclaiming "Why yes, yes I am. Am I all you expected I would be". In my defence it was raining and I look very tired and rubbish right now.

I hate it, it snowed 3 inches last night and they're calling for 36 more this weekend. Everytime it snows I listen to Duffy.

Any legal types out there?
The network manager at my previous place of work is telling his current employees that I was fired. I have never been fired from any job and left the job for a higher paid one with glowing references from two heads of departments. This network manager never worked there when I was there and has never met me. The first I heard of this rumour was when a person I worked with came to me to ask why I was fired so its obviously spreading around that I was fired despite nothing of the sort happening. Can I do anything about this?

On a random facebook group, there was a link to an album of photos of my old neighbourhood.
I've just found photos of my great grandma that I'm assuming weve not seen because they're from other people's albums, and also school photos showing my aunties and uncles.

I haven't bothered much with QOTW over the last few months - mainly because I was sick to death of ankle-biters hooting "You made that up!! That never happened!!" So I decided not to bother anymore. I mean, whats the point of me slaving over a hot keyboard only to get called a liar half the time?

But I just had to tell you once more story. Happened today.

I was called out to a surgeons office down in Richmond, Melbourne, to fix a few niggly things with his network. When I was finished I was chatting to the doc and I mentioned that I was on the lookout for any spare anatomical models. Joints, bones - that sort of thing. The missus needs them for her study-group as the big consultant exams are looming.

"Yeah" says doc - "I've a couple of things you can have" and he rummaged through a cupboard and handed me a fully articulated femur, tibia and fibula complete with kneecap and all the bones in the feet.

"Oh - and you can have this as well" and chucked over a complete arm and hand skeleton. Again, fully articulated.

So I thanked him, gathered my gear and set off for home with the bits of skeleton tucked under my arm. I hailed a cab and settled in for the ride.

The cabbie was chatty and asked what I did for a living, so I told him computer consultant.

"Good money, is it?" he asked

"Mate" I said "I charge an arm and a leg" and waved my skeleton bits at him.

We almost crashed he was laughing that hard.

I tell you, you can't make this shit up....

Fucktards in a youth hostel, selfish cunt in the opposite bunk with your light on, I hate you. Is it any wonder my blood pressure is high these days? I used to be fine in this place, nice 4 bunk female dorm, clean and secure. Now it makes me want to kill. Sense of humour failure now engaged.

Know what else I hate? Most things. I'm waiting for the happy hormones to kick in but I'm not sure they will.

my delightful child has just spilled milk all over the sofa and rug in a rather swish and rather rented apartment. i'm a concerned about stinky milk smells - not good.

i dont have any biological type sprays to hand so here's my thinking - ive removed as much as i can with a towel then blowdried the rest with a hairdryer, my thinking is its not the milk fats that will stink but maybe the other shit in there? lactose? who knows (i draw pictures and fuck around on the web for a living).

warming milk in a pan doesnt sour it so will my 'evaporate it with a heat source' plan actually work?
