Okay, I remember that article recently about bra sizes getting bigger over there...
...but this is taking things a bit too far.

Total lack of decent chippy's around these parts.
I haven't had cod in years, as it's just bloody expensive, but I scored some Alaskan cod (freshly caught) so am doing homemade fish and chips tonight, and I have some mushy peas in the cupboard from the English store. I also have some old Eastenders tapes and Rita, Sue & Bob Too that I'll watch.

English night!

How are you lot? All have a good weekend, I trust?
Gonz - looks like you might be able to go on holiday?
Wanderer - how's the ankle?
BGB - how's the Jeff Bridges crush?
Psychochomp - doing alright?
Beckyletters - how's the job?
Monty - hope things get a bit better on the MentalEx front.

Flying
Anyone else think that it might be quite nice for this volcano shit to go on for ages, like a few years, and see what happens? I fancy a change in society. Its all a bit loud these days. We could all get about on boats and shit, and well, I've thought it through and see no problems with it. We (as a society) would figure shit out. We've only had freely available and affordable airtravel for a generation really, we'd live without it. Yes some people would have to change their lifestyle, including me, but you know, like, change, and stuff.

What's local that you like to do or would like to but haven't done?
I'm heading to Washington DC to check out museums, I quite like museums.
I mostly want to see art and history, National Gallery of Art, National Portrait Gallery, United States Holocaust Museum and The Museum of the American Indian.

Hacking
Someone has hacked into our company website - each page comes up with FUCK OFF flashing in big letters!

Has anyone else been the victim of a hacker?

If you could punch one person who would it be and where would you punch them?
I'd like to punch Harriet Harman in the neck as she seems to represent everything I hate about politicians.

One of my legs is shorter than the other
I have truly shitty posture, and my bad neck was "a timebomb waiting to go off".

When were you last given it straight from a medical professional?

I know it's a link on /ot but fuck it
This had me in fits on the tube this morning:
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8627335.stm

There's something about the idea of "salt and freshly ground black people" that tickles me pink. What is your favourite recent news item?

Silver lining.
Put all my weight on the crap wrist last night and it went click pop agony. Silver lining? Legitimate use of lots of tramadol at work.

So, if you had one wish, just for you, none of this altruistic shite, what would you wish for?

6 inches taller for me.

I see I haven't missed much this weekend apart from a load of whining.
MTFU the lot of you.

Now down to business. Who's missed me the most?

Maimed
Seriously right, fuck it all.
My mother, who was supposed to just give my hairstyle a little trimming neckshave, dug the clippers right into my neck. (On purpose, yes, because she is a sadistic cow.)
She didn't really want to do it and I should have heeded the warnings, but I figured it was a fair trade seeing as I've just hemmed some trousers for her.
Anyway I now have a neck full of tubey red mards and it burns like fuck.
And I have to be chirpy in work.

What will YOU not be doing again in a hurry?

It's 07********0
I was feeling a bit satisfied with humanity recently and frankly not very misanthropic at all, so I considered putting my mobile number in a public place, maybe even on a well-known internet forum to see what sort of things would get sent to me.

Quickly, disabuse me of the notion that humans are any good. What messages would you send to a stranger's mobile given the chance?

*sidles in*
Hey all, I've been neglecting this forum for a while and there appear to have been some changes! Can someone tell me if the option to sort QotW by most popular has disappeared altogether, or is it just cunningly hidden behind a strategically placed bonsai?

Smugging it up, Vipros style!
Out of a total of 710 anglers today, I placed 28th. I placed 6th in the female division. My first major tournament. I'm more than a bit proud of me, and my Team guys are stoked!

Two hours, and two bottles of wine
and the dinner still isn't cooked. Anyone else spending a Saturday night that should be fun, in a over-heated kitchen, drinking expensive wine recklessly and waiting drearily for things to brown?

Alternatively what *are* you doing at the moment?
(, Sat 17 Apr 2010, 22:00, 10 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Just watching some World Poker Tour
and one of the players is Toto Leonidas.

Is that not an awesome name? What great names have you encountered recently?

Alternatively, what house things are you putting off doing to laze around instead? I should be up a stepladder right now.

alright cunts
I know it's woah late there and you've all probably fucked off
but I'm bored off my face
I've got an hour and a half of work left and then I'm going swimming.

What are you looking forward to??

Good morning, interweb people!
The weekend is shaping up to be a good one - free fries at Jack In The Box today, camping tonight with the boys and a tournament tomorrow.

What are you lot up to? And if any of you have had to miss flights because of the volcano, I'm sorry.

Don't you hate it when you're denied the right to reply?
In last week's QOTW there was a post about DJs who use MP3s, here:

www.b3ta.com/questions/buzzwords/post696077#post696301

I can't now respond and inform him I use vinyl when I DJ. In fact, the last time I DJd I had to take my own Technics, as the other guys used CDJs.

When have you wished you could respond to slurs on your character but were denied by the cruel hand of fate?

Fucking hell.
Mentalex (tm) is now back from a scan, and is carrying TWINS. Non-identical twins.

My head hurts. If only I had some 'Ian Dury and the Blockheads' LPs I could listen to - they would surely help.

So, "Cave Duck"'s life sucks, diddums, mine's great, for the most part.
Yeah', sure, some things are shit, but I saw a dog yesterday, it was a little poodle like thing, I think, it had poodle hair and the shape of a scottie dog.

Man, life can't suck when such things exist.

WEEKEND TIMEZ ! Anyone doing anything good?

//edit//

Holy shit, Alice is out to buy at the begining of next month, that's a bit quick, innit?

This Is What We Find - Ace Lines From Ian Dury Songs.

You look so self-possessed
I won't disturb your rest
It's lovely when you're sleeping
But wide awake is best

(Wake Up And Make Love With Me)

They've got womanly breasts under pale mauve vests
Shoes like dead pigs' noses
Cornflake packet jacket, catalogue trousers
A mouth what never closes

(Blockheads)

Moments of sadness, moments of guilt
Stains on the memory, stains on the quilt

(Fucking Ada)

....And with one mighty bound he was free!
I nearly couldn't find the remote control when the adverts came on last night.

What close escapes have you had recently?
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 12:59, 5 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Oh, fucksocks.
I need to have a good think. Things keep changing too fast and I don't know what to do about them, or if I'm doing things for the right reasons. I predict listening to relaxing (read: depressing) music all day and watching the new episode of Supernatural to cheer myself up.

On a lighter note, I watched Dead Snow last night and it was FUCKING INCREDIBLE. I've never seen so many intestines in such a short space of time. So, question. When the inevitable zombie apocalypse occurs, do you have a cunning plan for survival or would you just embrace the shambling and need for braaaaaaaaains?
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 12:20, 75 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Today's earworm seems to be "This town ain't big enough for the both of us" by Sparks
for some reason. I don't think I've heard it for some time...

What's got in your head?
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 10:50, 76 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Unlike Monty I watched something good last night
the new series of "You have been watching" which was amazing in the fact there was a shot of Jamie Oliver next to a playground saying "no one understands why I'm here, if you love something and it feels right you just have go with it" and NO ONE MADE A PAEDO JOKE.

On the plus side it's well sunny here like innit. What's your plans for the weekend?
