So what are folks up to tonight?
(, Thu 22 Jul 2010, 21:06, 258 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Naff all on tonight, going to see either Toy Story 3 or Inception tomorrow with a friend (in the -zone sense of the word).
(, Thu 22 Jul 2010, 21:25, Reply)
Anything about Toy Story 3, but a lot of people are saying Inception's really good. So is this friend somebody you'd like to be more than friends with?

Also heard that you need to see it twice to make sense of it, and seeing it in 3d on saturday anyway, so might take the chance to be smug at my sister (who is a film geek) by understanding more of it.
Also if things do go well, it wont matter if I'm "distracted" the first time I go and see it.

For the first time in about 6 months.
Have I missed anything? Where is Edmund? Have The Stig and Rubberduck stopped arguing yet? What is Vampyrecat's latest teenage lesbian fantasy?

And was on for about a month before that (as part of my revision avoidance program), and only recognise one of those names, and that's from a previous delurk, so don't think much has been happening recently on /ot at least.
But then I dont pay attention, so don't take my word for it.

I was being a tad sarcastic. I was around when Edmund got sent down for being a hopeless and rather perverse fantastist.
The Stig is long gone and I think Vampyrecat changed her name.

You're still alive! Well done!
I'm remembering Sunday mornings (in the UK) when I started work at 05.00 and you were the only person online.
How the hell are you?

I'm fine ta. My trip to the UK/europe is still on, and my cat, the little bugger, has just caught and killed a sparrow while wearing FOUR friggen bells on his collar. And then dropped it at my feet.

They'll fuck the cat's head up.
Cats are hardwired to prowl quietly and sticking bells on him will affect his reflexes and his responses towards you.
Cats are also hardwired to attack. Don't get cross or upset that he kills the occasional tweetypie. It means he's mentally and physically in good order.

The organisation's being would up in 2012; the programme I work on still has to be delivered beyond then but after that nothing is set in stone. If I get the chance to go now, with 18 years service, I'll take it because frankly, future redundancy terms are looking likely to be drastically reduced if this government gets its way.

Go to the dark side!
You should be able to pick up consultancy work. The stability might not be there but the whole point of Cameron's demolition of RDA's is that he can make his pals at SERCO, Crapita etc. pick up the necessary work, be a little bit more accountable but still fulfill a recognised need.

However, the likelihood of them offering is slim given the level of money they'd have to pay me.
