Actually that's a nice pic in reality though I'd expect at least one walker's crisp packet, and some digraded plastic bottles at the very least.

There's only one great advert for Britain at the moment:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWFq-v7TKdQ /sod it, I'm going to compo it, as he should be on a poster, and it's the thought that counts. Watch all 4 parts, he's truly brilliant

I noticed on the text about this compo that the ConDem govt is planning to get rid of May Day!!
ah right not only does May Day represent ancient British festival of Springtime but also is a working class holiday and celebration of working class solidarity to move it to October can only be an attempt to stop the traditional May Day demos.

I know
I was livid when I heard that. I have so many good memories of being a child and looking forward to May Day was we'd always go to the local fair.

I wonder what kind of a person John Lennon would have been had he lived
would he have sold out his principles and become a money-grubbing middle-aged rocker who supports the Tories or would he have been a selfless campaigner for every just cause - this might make an interesting compo idea, perhaps?

He hammered on about imagining having no possessions, while owning a house featuring a room dedicated to keeping fur coats chilled at optimum temperature.
So I imagine he'd be just like Bono, only very probably more annoying (if that's possible).

1) agreed 2) native americans didnt leave anything behind as permanent or sophisticated as stonehenge. Perhaps the pueblos of New Mexico were an exception but they were building a lot later than the european stone age. 3) 1776 i thought

Well
1. And Britains are all small-minded, xenophobic, hypocritical racist middle-Englanders with bad teeth.
2. There's quite a few burial grounds etc, but on the whole I agree.
3. When do you want it to begin? I understand the Vikings got there, and at one point was shared between the British and the French - they had a war about it or something - something to do with being independent.

That's the only thing I have a dissagrement with some of the Native Americans and that's
the bones that were found (possibily of being Viking or earlier) but we're not allowed to do any tests on as they consider the bones sacred and noone is allowed to see them.

The Grand Canyon for example and the Native "Americans" have culture that predates those stones.. I'll shut up now ;)
