For middle aged and older people at least, using the internet helps boost brain power, research suggests.

Shame.

Can you guess who has a dick up their arse and who is enjoying ejaculatory fun? Can you?
Thanks to Rusty's earlier quiz I decided to make one too. So I stole his source code, which turns out to be Robs code. Thanks guys.
It was going to be longer but, quit frankly, searching for the content was an unpleasant experience.

The plant interface system,...uses surface potential sensors to read the weak bioelectric current flowing across the surface of the leaves..... specially developed algorithm translates this data into Japanese sentences, which are used as fodder for the plant’s daily blog posts.

What a bell end.
It's hard to sympathise with failure when it's done in such a spectacular fashion.
It's daft enough to try and smack coconuts, but I would have avoided lining them up on a metal bar, you numb-nut.

I've had this documentary about the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in my collection for a few years now, and I thought I'd cut this bit out and upload it.
It shows how the first version of the Doctor Who theme tune was edited, physically, on analogue tape, before the advent of digital sound.

interesting stuff... I remember learning to edit audio on analogue tape (i'm a bit of an oldie) but never conceived anything this anal/awesome.
do you have the rest of the documentary anywhere?

I'll upload if it it doesn't already exist somewhere on the internets. It's called "The Alchemists of Sound".

Does anyone who believes in Illuminati/New World Order-type conspiracies have any better ideas about how the planet should be run?
I'm genuinely interested. All I see all over the net is people telling us to fear the people in power, but nowhere have I read a manifesto laying out how a population of 6.5 billion should ideally be managed.

to paraphrase shatner on his album 'has been' :
'everyone knows everything about all of us! there's too much knowledge!'
spose the net represents a system of control - you allow people to communicate relatively freely but chain them to regularly checking a machine for information rather than talking in a pub, for example. Also, all of what we do on the net is trackable, isn't it? Also, if we pay for things with cash to small businesses, the supermarket don't get to hold information on what people regularly buy, again with a slightly hollow incentive scheme.
Fuck, that guy is right!

Remember goontower.com ? The goons from somethingawful.com have topped it with this! Lovely google maps interface means you don't load the whole thing at once too. Stuff I have seen includes Starbug and the crew from Red Dwarf, a level from the first Tony Hawk game, Doom, the Simpsons, Rick Astley, and loads of other stuff.
If you left-click anywhere, it'll give you a link to c+p, for instance www.gooncity.com/city.htm?x=1.6750717163085938&y=-0.7039655946166423&z=13 = the Queen Vic.
