Freight hopping in the Pacific Northwest
If you like freight trains, amazing scenery and a surprisingly erudite, engaging, rasp-voiced, drunk, Doug Stanhope-resembling travelling companion, then this is well worth 20 minutes of your time.
Shedloads more of his vids on the YT and all are very good.

I'm going straight to his others. It's Carl Spackler doing boxcars after being sacked as greenskeeper.

Just search for Stobe the Hobo
if you hadn't already worked that out.
And if you watch as many as I have, consider bunging him a couple of dollars on Patreon :)

Jesus, it's an immensely poignant elegy
He's obviously cut adrift from a rich family and searching for an America that doesn't exist anymore. He knows it. But there's a whole load of consolation in that gorgeous, timeless landscape.

Not being funny,
but how do you work that out? About the rich family and all that?
I'm a bit autistic so I don't really pick up on these things.

In his first video
He makes a reference to his family being high society. Plus he has a jag, a piano and gets picked up by a light aircraft at the end of his hoboing.

Indeed I have, it's a good watch and he's an amiable character.
There's an English bloke with the ridiculous monicker "Brave Dave" who did a freight hop across Canada last year. He seems actually quite a nice fellow, so if you enjoyed Stobe the Hobo you might like this:

(ignore the annoying intro, it gets much better)

Fantastic landscapes, and it looks an interesting way to travel, but it can be risky. I know of someone who unfortunately died hopping trains in the US. He jumped aboard a moving freight carriage which turned out to have an open floor.

I'm totally with you on this.
I can fully appreciate the expertise of the musicians. Each one is clearly at the top of their game. But the actual composition is a load of wanky shite.
This type of Jazz is the Tracy Emin of the music world. No doubt full of talent and ideas, but squandering it all in an attempt to be edgy and avant garde.
It's music for wine taster twats that like to twiddle their moustaches and talk about the "innovative juxtaposition of classic traditional melodies with modern, organic time signatures and a cheeky nod to Miles Davis." or some such cockery. I'm not sure anybody really 'enjoys' the music so much as appreciating it as vocally as possible in order to fit into a peer group they regard as higher up the pecking order than fans of Adele.
Basically just reminds me of when Radiohead started to dissappear up their own arses.

You should go to Las Vegas.
You could take in the Eiffel Tower, St Mark's Square and the Empire State Building in half an hour or less. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume The Luxor wouldn't fool you.
