Just been invited to a school reunion, via Friends Revisited.
Has anyone ever been to one?
I left school 25 odd years ago, haven't kept in touch and I disliked most of them. Might be fun turning up and telling the cunts what I thought of them. Pissed obviously.

DG's post last night has got me thinking...
If you could do any job at all in the world, what would it be and why?

I think I'd still be doing all the jobs that I do but I'd do them with greater confidence - I'd have a huge reputation for being brilliant instead of a huge reputation for smiling and saying yes a lot.

You?

Just leave it in the past
Last night I was handed a shiny little DVD of the new ATeam movie. No spoilers but the whole thing was a huge barrel of shite. I really had hoped that this might break the trend of movie crossovers and rebirths of old tv shows, remakes etc. It also made me think what other tv shows, films, video games etc would make good/bad movies.

What should never have been made into a movie?

Alt Q: What would you like made into a movie, books, old films, tv shows etc etc?

Do you remember that thread about child b3tans
I saw this failblog.org/2010/07/26/epic-fail-photos-parenting-fail-31-6/#comments and I thought of Applebite and Kitty. What a great picture.

Now, let's don't do the same thread again, so you can keep in the one below and talk about hair colouring or you can tell me which one is your favourite crisps flavour and which one is missing.

Or, why do you want time to go faster? What are you looling forward to?

Bugger
Last night I discovered that after years of cumulative abuse more colourful than the combined tongues of Oscar Wilde and Bert Monkeysex, my hair has developed the ability to reject blonde hair dye. On top of that, I had to spend 5 minutes detangling knots in my headphone wires that could not possibly have tied themselves before I could go and get more dye.

What scientific impossibilities have flummoxed you lately?

Also, now I come to think of it, what words don't get used often enough? Like, ooh, I dunno, flummoxed?

Good morning, my friends!
I was just thinking today, you know, technology, what a good thing.

When I came to England I had to rely on the very expensive phone to keep in contact with friends and family. Only 5 years later I'm chatting with my sister who lives in NY using my mobile phone, for free (well, kind of, it's included in my tariff). And I just downloaded Google Sky, which is so coooool.

Which recent bits of technology you find most impressive? With which ones you couldn't live anymore? Which ones would you set on fire?

Alt Q: How are we feeling this morning? Enjoying the rain?

Last night I dreamt about my cat
just general stuff about the house, quite normal. She died at Easter and I've missed her a bit.

As I woke up, feeling rather sad, I felt that little bounce in the mattress of a small body jumping onto the bed, and then the distinctive quiver of little paws walking up the bed.

I opened my eyes and sat up, but there was, of course, nothing there. Perhaps it was just a lingering sense impression from the dream. Perhaps.

Anything spooky happened to you lately?

This place is moving with all the speed of a spastic in a magnet factory tonight.
So... I may be out of a job shortly, assuming I get the redundancy I've volunteered for. No biggie, I like the job and all but the package I'd (hopefully) get would see me alright for a fair bit and also allow me to pay off what debt I have (loans not insured as I reckon it's not worth the paper it's written on). Plus, if it's a choice of going now on current terms or waiting for the Goovmint to get their bill through Parliament that will allow them to slash redundancy packages in the public sector, then I'll take my chances now, thank you very much.

However, I'm not one for sitting on my arse ad infinitum and would want to work; another reason for putting in for redundancy now is that I figure I'm still young enough to try something different. Trouble is, after nigh on 20 years of working in the same sector, I'm not sure what. Any suggestions? Currently, I do project appraisals for small to medium business and community sector grants, but have also done shitty admin type stuff and persuading the unemployed that working for a living is actually a fucking marvellous idea. I trained in graphic design but don't really have the inclination to get into that now.

Alt Q: Are half torn, slightly soiled grot mag pages stuck in trees and bushes becoming a thing of the past thanks to the internet, and when did you last stumble on a stash of badly hidden grumble?

Gonz is back in the kitchen !
Right, it's slow here, so I'm gonna show off a tad, as I've just made the nicest meal I've made in months and months and months, and it's all my own recipie.

Fry off some sort of thai paste in a wok, I used mansomething, manung or something like that. Add half a packet of veg / cut your own veg, whatever you want, stir it all up, add in a nest of noodles, top up with a tin of coconut milk and half a tin of water, simmer for 15 minutes, add some prawns and when they're pink, they're done.

Pic in Replies.

I even got a posh tin opener from Marks, it's great, it opens the tin without any hassle at all, I should never have wasted all those years using shit one from the pound shop. And I got a lovely new bowel.

Anyway.... I'm just beakering, wrong time to beaker, hardly anyone is here, HELLO IF YOU ARE.

Tell me about the last time you thought to yourself "Oh gee oh gosh, I'm so swell".
I put the prawns in after the veg and they are over-done, but I know for next time.

Classy. Reeeeal classy.
The rather attractive fella on the bus today was staring at me.

"Ooh," thinketh I, "for someone who's just on his way home from having a rather nasty tooth extraction I reckon I look pretty good". So I gave him my cutest little half-smile (not so difficult when the other half of your face is still anaesthetised and motionless) and hopped off the bus.

That pepped up my afternoon, I can tell you.

It wasn't until I got off the bus that I realised: the reason he was staring was because (due to my mouth being numb) I had unknowingly dribbled a large quantity of blood and saliva down my chin and onto my shirt.

Anyone had a "really classy" moment like that, that they'd care to share? I'm in a whole world of pain right now and some LOLs are needed.

This morning I asked Mark if he had a jacket to lend me
as we were at his home and I didn't have any. He assured me that the day would be dry and nice, so no worries, I wouldn't need a jacket.

Now it's raining as if someone up there had left the water tap open all night and there was a hole on the roof.

Which advice you've been given that you regret you followed?

Berty, Berty
I never disliked you, I even laughed at some of your jokes, but eh, I'm at work, you posting those pictures mean I can't read offtopic safely. Stop now.

Question: Which things you should care about don't really bother you?

I should feel bad for being here all day instead of working, but I'm not. It feels quite good, in fact.

So, does anyone think that Bert's really gone?
And did you know he once raped a kitten?

Evidence in replies.

Sod off then Bert
We've hit the target. That thread was getting difficult to read so here is a new one

EDIT - forgot a question - what is the thing you dislike most about yourself?

I've roughly planned out a short trip around some of Australia
probably for Winter 2011. Looks like it's going to cost around £2,000, so considering there's £2.36 in my bank account, I'd better get saving.

What are you saving up for?

Alternatively, tell me about your sucktastic Monday so far.

Morning huffers
What albums/music have you recently re-discovered? I watched fight club for the first time in years the other night and downloaded the soundtrack again as I lost it during my last house move. The incendiary bass of the dust brothers is a sheer delight. Also the back catalogue of Gene is a must right now since the lead singer is recording new stuff again.

Alt Q: what's changed in your life recently? Do you like it or want to fuck its shit up?
(, Mon 26 Jul 2010, 8:02, 135 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Well!
I have had a lovely day with the BF today.Just thought it was about time I sang his praises seeing as I normally tell you how he has upset me! But he definitely got a gold star today, possibl;y even brownie points.....

Q: is it acceptable to eat Yorkshire Pudding with meats other than beef?

Manchester
On Wednesday, I'm flying over to the UK for work for 4 days and am staying an extra 2 days to do some sightseeing. I haven't been before, and I'm going to be in Manchester.
Where should I go? What should I do?

Time for a new one.
I'm going for some sushi tonight, well fancy it, first time this week (tuesday doesn't count 'cus it was supermarket sushi and was rubbish). I bought some really poncy nice cheese this week that my flatmate threw out 'cus it smelled, BUT THAT WAS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. It was called "ardraham irish farmhouse cheese", well lush. Yup, tonight is deffo the kind of night for sushi.

I got my uncle some poncy cards for his birthday tomo. I really don't wanna go, hate big family things, you alright with family doos?

Totally listenin' to The Godzilla soundtrack, probably one of the best soundtracks, it's up there with Batman Returns soundtrack.

Seen any good flicks lately? I mean, on DVD or something, rather than at the picture house. I think tonight is a Movie Watching kindda night.

What I'm saying, right, is that if you're a fully functioning adult and you wear sneakers with velcro instead of laces, you shouldn't be allowed to use the word "fuck".
It completely loses all of it's power when you look like a mong.

What other rules should we implement into society?
