# Set sound to streaming?
Solved the timing on my one. I still couldn't get it to loop nicely though, even though I had matched my bpm to the framerate.
(, Wed 31 Mar 2004, 11:55, archived)
# How do you mean ?
so if I set sound to streaming........what then do I need to do ?

EDIT : Did you set the framerate to 11.4 ? I've just done that with streaming on and it seems to work.
(, Wed 31 Mar 2004, 11:58, archived)
# Well, what streaming does is...
...tell flash it's ok to drop frames if it needs to. Normally flash draws every frame, which means sound and anim can drift on someone else's machine if it is slower (or faster) than yours.

You might see no difference when you watch the swf because you were not dropping any frames (in which case you don't need to do anything), or you might find you are now out of sync, in which case you might need to add or remove frames until things line up again.

A useful trick is to pick a framerate in flash that fits with the bpm of your music - my robots anim runs at 150 bpm (which is 2.5 beats per second), so I used 10 fps, giving me 4 frames per beat, which meant it was almost impossible for me to animate anything that wasn't in time with the music.
(, Wed 31 Mar 2004, 12:09, archived)
# If it works for you (with streaming on)
It should work for everybody.

If I was bored I could deduce the bpm of your track from that framerate, but luckily I'm not!
