Fleas go to space
And so the fleas were bored one day. They took a trip in their big purple rocket. Through the stars, past the stars. To a planet of colour 'Teal'. The had a quick look around this Win95-desktop-style-landscape. Thought little of it, they did. So they hopped back in their purple rocket. To come home to crumpets and tea instead.More Fleas I recommends Firefox for viewing anims

nice job answering my question
shitface. being a hippie and a treehugger i am extremely offended by you telling me to hug a tree. ooooooh. you got me so bad. and by failing to prove that there is anything wrong with hippies, you have admitted that there is nothing.

SO anyway...
I have several PSD files that i want to use to make an animated gif... The psd files have several layers, my idea being to convey a story by switching the layers from visible to non-visible, etc. But can i work our how to string these psds together to make a single file in Image Ready? No. No i can't. Any ideas?

Open it in Imageready
and make frames. Hide or show stuff for each frame.

copy all the layers one by one
into one of them from all the others
(

add more frames in the animation pallette
then select them one by one and set the layer visibility, and the timing by clicking the tiny arrows beneath each thumbnail.

Thats the problem - i'm fine with this bit,
its just that i'll end up with about 7 different animated gif files rather than just one, because i can't work out how to introduce the rest of the layer'd psd files to the first (animated) one.... I have a horrible feeling I'll have to make one huuuuuuuge psd and spend ages confusing myself with about 40 layers.... Nice!

Cheredenine - Git orf moi laaaaand... ,

ah, just re-read the question.
make them all into one psd in photoshop before you import. drag the layers all into one psd (hold down [ctrl or shift or alt or summat] to maintain the position). Link them first before you drag, to save time.
(
spacehog ,

Oh well...
One big PSD it is then! Hopefully i'll be able to finish it off and post it in a bit...
(

yep, that's the one.
put the layers into strategic folders for animation. The layers can be expanded and collapsed in IR too, making for less layer-chaos. Good luck!
