I bloody hate the Fimbles
Not funny or artistic but it made me feel sooooooo much better...

Will people please learn that product placement is not just sticking a logo in the corner of a pic...
...it's almost like subliminal advertising. You put the product into an actual scene and don't call attention to it as the main focal point. If it's blatant then it's "Product endorsement/advertising" not "placement". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Product_placement Ok, ok, I'll go have a cuppa and calm down. Also Fimbles are scary enough as they are.

The point of a challenge is to
be challenging. Sticking a logo in the corner != challenging. Follow the pretty simple rules and you'll be well away.

Fair point but...
I didn't think that the "Sabatier" on the knife was clear enough on its own. And the Fimbles may be scary enough but they're not dead enough for my liking...

Yeah, when will people realise
that there is nothing more important in the world than adhering to the literal word of the image challenge! They should stop having fun and being inspired to make pictures. Following instructions precisely is much more crucial.
(
Mystery_Bob ,
Thu 17 Sep 2009, 10:28,

or
you could have an image challenge for doing something that is a challenge due to it having a brief AND have it on a place called b3ta.com/board where you can post absolutely anything whenever you want. People should feel free to do whatever they are inspired by, but can't we also have a challenge that has rules which make it challenging?
(
HappyToast Groat froth ,
Thu 17 Sep 2009, 10:44,
archived )
I don;t think it really matters all that much
and there is not point in getting upset about it as it's going to happen all week. It always happens - nobody ever really pays that much attention to the brief. And on Wednesday, when the challenge changes again, everyone will forget about the differences between sponsorship and product placement and we can all get angry about some other misunderstanding.
(
Mystery_Bob ,
Thu 17 Sep 2009, 11:02,

I'm not getting angry
just saddened by the inability of people to follow rules of a game. If rules are so shit, why don't football players shoot in whatever goal they feel like? or play in the stands and not on the pitch?

hahahhaha!
I grabbed the box set of that a while back, after a mate kept telling me to watch it.... The first series was good, then I just got so boring . Anyone know what's going on in Lost at teh moment? Something else I stopped watching - after series 3 I think...

Series 2 of Heroes..
.. was when the writers strike was on. It was shorter and not as good as series 1. Series 3 is supposed to be better, but not seen it yet.

new sci-fi show
X-Files, sort of, meets Reaper, sort of. Two FBI agents (a guy with a 'gift', and a sceptical woman) have to secure supernatural artifacts that have escaped from the titular government facility.

Series 1 of Heroes was a brilliant self contained series
then they tried to carry the same characters into stories that they wernt written for and it was terrible. Series 2 and 3 were a shambles and I shan't be watching any more of that drivvel. Lost is brilliant now (but people may not like the direction it has taken). Most people I know who don't watch it any more stopped at series 3, which is a shame as 4 & 5 are really strong. I've started watching 24 for the first time... My word its fantastic :D

well I stopped as Sky was pulled from virgin cable, and C4 errr, lost the rights to lost.
after I missed a large chunk of it I gave upm, and was never interested enough to get back into it... I guess when all the series are being flogged for a tenner each in the sales, I might have another go..
