here in the U.S. take place early evening around 6ish.
Sounds weird that, I know (as an Englishman who has recently moved to the US and can understand how odd reliable weather is) but you can pretty much set you watch by it in the summertime. When we have a blisteringly hot day, we get a kick ass thunderstorm between 6-8pm without fail.

Maybe you've been in that disgusting place for too long.
( , Fri 25 Jun 2010, 7:17, Reply)

I really enjoy thunderstorms but didn't see any when I went to Chicago :( - it wasn't summer though.

girlfriend bolted me off. deserved it really. i'm hitting and running just now cos i've given up the internet (plus constant weed smoking) as entertainment but i just wanted to say that of all the places i spent too much time on, b3ta was the best. the friendliest place i found online. genuine enjoyment in other peoples creativity, quirks, opinions and niceness. not online much at all now but still telling people who are that this is the best place on the internet. was long overdue time for a break and the dumpage was a wakeup to the other world (the purportedly real one) but i'm a bit pissed and hoping that if anyone recognises me from previous links posts that they can pass on that i valued the chat a whole lot more more than the funny links. cheers. tickle

*mutters* real life indeed!
Seriously though, /links is slightly diminshed (& considerably less Scottish) without you.

Don't let a lady tell you otherwise, this is the best place on the net. Honestly, I just joined, but I've been lurking for nearly 9 years....Since I was 13!! Yes. It was not appropriate for me back in the day, lol. The weed smoking though? You're right, stop that. To a lady it is severely unattractive. But stay here though. Or else you'll never see the best links or what you can make out of bacon this week. definitely remain here. The internet is not something that has to be quit. Just restricted. Learning that is an important and necessary thing. Check the news, check b3ta, and then read a book.
Quit the weed though. makes you a big douche. and it costs a lot. But As a lady, appreciate b3ta. it's the best thing since sliced bread plus a blowjob. Or equivalent sexual act that was not asked for.

After watching Dave's excellent link to steve reich's counterpoint (after which i have subsequently downloaded more of!)
i found this beautiful video of some basejumpers with a royksopp remix of it over the top :)
Edit: as i'm slightly drunk i forgot to preview the link.
low and behold, it has been posted a multitude of times over the past few years so apologies if the GC nazis are on an early morning stakeout ;)

Pat Metheny performing this at a Reich concert years ago - the best bit was seeing almost the whole audience going "Oh, right" when the section the Orb nicked started

But it's really lully. The bit at 2:10 where they look like they're hovering in mid air is very cool.

GOATS!!! Goats pop wheelies. The concept of a goat bridge is genius. It looks like the only purpose it serves is to make goats happy.
That does it, I'm getting some goats. I mean it.
( , Fri 25 Jun 2010, 3:14, Reply)

multiple obstacles - multiple bridge bits - you build the bridge to get the goats from left to right.
(Also could have a theme tune with a moonwalking goat singing bleat-it)

as part of an entertainment show, they had kids challenged to see how many times they could run up the down one, then down the up one in 60 or 90 seconds or something. It was highly amusing, and orange.

Starring Sean Connery
with Allan Cumming as the Gordon the Goat
I mean really... wtf.

This isn't the first one apparently... www.imdb.com/title/tt0851471/
There's some nice touches in there (the Kill Bill outfit, the Aston Martin) and obviously, getting Connery to do anything these days should be applauded, but I don't think Aaardman will be shitting themselves just yet
EDIT: Just read Ms Shirley Bassey is doing the theme tune!

"Privates is a platform twin-stick shooter in which you lead a teeny-tiny gang of condom-hatted marines as they delve into peoples'
vaginas and bottoms and blast away at all manner of oozy, shouty monsters. It's rude, funny, bitingly satirical and technically pretty
accurate if you don't count the tiny people or the germs with teeth."

The way the teams are qualifying could lead to England winning it by knocking out (in order) the last 4 teams to have knocked us out of previous tournaments.
Rnd 16: 1990 - Germany
Quarter: 1998 - Argentina
Semi: 2002 - Brazil
Final: 2006 - Portugal (If they beat Brazil tomorrow then we could meet them in the Final)
Put another way. It's not going to be easy ;)

more a curious happenstance that would make for a good story. Like England not winning any games shown on ITV ;)
Good plan though.
