But seriously, there no way that comedy and fishing can be combined. Boring past-time for boring cunts, IMHO.
EDIT: I know that this breaks one of the rules of the board, viz. not slagging off other people's work, but that's the dullest video I've ever seen. 26 minutes of fishing 'banter'. Bo-lacks. I say this with impunity because you're a bunch of spamming non-chatters. And because I'm perfect.

Sad to hear that this chap died today. Bringing Joplin's music to the masses was a great thing to do and his arrangements in The Sting were fun. I prefer the raw piano versions, hence this guy playing the Maple Leaf Rag. This performer's other rag vids are well worth a look if you like the music. He's got a real talent.

I've never been able to play a proper version of this, but then I've never tried learning one. At present I've memorised Bethena, Pleasant Moments, The Chrysanthemum, Scott Joplin's New Rag, Combination March, Country Club, Elite Syncopations and a bit of a simpler version of Original Rags. My head can't take much more :)
As a listener, the last two stanzas of the Maple Leaf are two of my all time favourites though.

Not knowing if they can ticket him or not after he drives off I think Policeman is a bit cunty for standing in front (thereby giving him the chance to get off with it) but then driving over the cop's foot isn't the way to go.
Ergo: DOUBLECUNT
( , Tue 7 Aug 2012, 19:55, Reply)

Some of the richest people are super tight, arguably part of why they are rich.
There was that story a few years back where a magazine sent £1 cheques to the 100 richest people in the UK to see who'd cash them. IIRC I think almost all of them did.

should have loced the doors before he tried to drive off...
( , Wed 8 Aug 2012, 6:04, Reply)

What, becuase he has a flash car he can get out of a ticket and assault a cop in the process and get away scot free?
( , Tue 7 Aug 2012, 19:55, Reply)

Had a close call the other month, and fortunately Patawayo just said "fair play" and that was it.
So I'd be a bit concerned about the officer clearly deliberately obstructing the car so he could continue to write the ticket.
That said, driving into him was dumb as, not just because it was dickish, but because I reckon that was what the cop was playing for, he went straight from ticket writing to assault on a police officer like he was going for it.
( , Tue 7 Aug 2012, 20:09, Reply)

would be interesting if he would have been able to contest the ticket after the fact if he was able to show the officer deliberately obstructing him, but once he's up for assaulting a police officer the ticket is fairly small beer.
( , Tue 7 Aug 2012, 20:20, Reply)

not only does he step in, but he takes another step to put his foot under the tyre, and then when he's saying the car is on his foot he manages to pull his foot out from under it.
I call shenanigans.

Did you see the documentary a while ago that followed the progress of a Nepalese immigrant from a lovely little charmer through getting a job as a parking attendant to his transformation into a cynical bitter bastard within a couple of days?
Patawayo is quite a neat shorthand for all that is wrong with the civil enforcement industry, including the exploitation of its workers.

as said before, in the united kingdoms of britland, if the tickets not on the car, it's not been issued.
standing in front of the car you'll never be able to afford to deliberately block it in, purposely getting in the way of it and pretending you've been run over by it counts as just being a massively jealous prick.

Are you saying that if it was a 1997 Mondeo he'd have had a point, but because the policeman couldn't afford this car he deserved to be driven over?
Is it not a reasonable thing to not drive over anyone, policeman or otherwise, regardless of whether or not you're claiming rich-ponce immunity?
( , Wed 8 Aug 2012, 2:52, Reply)

40 seconds in, i need see no more. Cop writing ticket. Ferrari man gets into car. Cop says stop. Ferrari doesnt stop. Ferrari should have paid ticket.
It's hardly a Rodney King style act of cops being cunts now, is it?
I just done a google. That car costs nearly £200,000. Fuuuuck. That's 67 times what my car costs. That's more than most homes, which people spend most of their lives paying for.

Parking offences are not arrestable, he's got no reason to detain him. His job is to right a ticket, not obstruct people or manufacture incidents.

People were still shocked by anger and swearing; It was unique in his day. Unfortunately he changed comedy to the extent where his delivery now seems ill thought through and ranty, because it's lost its ability to shock. What's extreme to one generation is subsumed into the middle ground by the next.

....there was no subtlety.
What you have to remember about Hicks is, his stuff is over 20 years old now. Of course it's dated, of course it's sledgehammer, of course it lacks the nuances of todays finest....the layers, structure and irony. But for fucks sake no-one was doing what he did back then. Pryor was on Crack, Martin had sold out, Williams had over coked, Pete and Dud were a thing of the past, shit a watered down Cosby was all we had. He stood up and critised America when no-one critised 'Merika.
And they hated him in America, we (in the UK) took him into our arms as soon as we heard him. The bitterness was fantastic. The hatred of all things "popular" was lovely. As far as I'm concerned he was an Englishman stuck in an American body in America. Just imagine the pain of that.
No doubt if he was still alive today he'd be in the next prequel to Marley and me, doing "Relentless" re-run tours and and nirorette ads...but I like to think he'd be doing acid under a bar light moaning about how music is shit nowadays. He did pave the way for Chris Rock, Loius CK and Dave Chapelle but no doubt you'd call them clumsy and un-subtle too.
