According to The Metro it's a lot more innocent than it sounds and there was no alcohol involved, the article above makes it sound like he was mugged rather than robbed, come on, who the fuck would mug him!?! Still, Berliners know how to have a good time and i'm thinking he got hammered, his celebration on the track is superb, great to see.

that this hasn't panned out quite as you thought it might. Yet you'll probably never know this because you'll only return in three months to post another spam link.
( , Thu 9 Aug 2012, 10:47, Reply)

You are being a bit spammy, but actually I did manage to find my way to the homepage, and read a few of them.
It's not the funniest thing ever, but I did chuckle at the "Pull the other one" pitch.
But more importantly, let me suggest if you want to promote your site on links, the best plan might be to put your URL in your sig, and then just actually join in with the site, posting other links you've found, responding to others' links etc. People who like things you've said may then think "I wonder what that URL in his sig* is" and then go and visit it.
*Apologies if you're a lady type, but let's be honest, it's not likely is it? You're almost certainly a bloke with glasses, too much hair gel and a fixey bike.

It may be wise to put the "Leaked Pitch" posts on the home page - it's a blog after all and the main reason you go to a blog is to read blog posts, so why not put them on the "home" page? Dunno why I'm bothering though, you'll probably never read this...

The Times is actually a reasonably good newspaper, if you ignore some of of the commentators; it's packed full of news, and much easier to read on a crowded tube carriage than the Guardian, which is a pain in the arse, like the Telegraph.

Tried the Grauniad for a bit but it's so polarised in it's opinions that it made me want to stab myself with a blunt spoon.
Hate Murdoch but at the moment The Times is the best bet.

Apparently, someone spoke to him in a park. If only he'd had a gun, this terrifying situation could have been sorted out much more satisfactorily.
( , Thu 9 Aug 2012, 9:35, Reply)

It may yet turn out to be a hoax. But the guy who wrote the letter has popped up to defend it: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2012/08/08/calgary-nose-hill-gun-stampede-police-us.html
"'What concerned me is two young men just approached us and stopped us, stopping us by being in our path, and [began] talking to us without even being welcome to talk to us. They just took it upon themselves to yell at us.'
"He said he should have the right to protect himself if things had escalated."
That might be part of the hoax; but, all else being equal, meh.

... this guy seems to be a recurring crank. Apparently the same guy wrote this one, for instance.
So the letter is probably a real letter, however the guy who wrote it may or may not be long-game trolling. I'm filing him under Poe's law.

I realised I wasn't cool enough to be in there and left immediately. I then found myself in Camden Market, had the same realisation and left again :(
