Those of you who have made the switch from Firefox to Chrome
What do you think of your decision and do you ever hanker for the halcyon days gone by?

So Mr Bin and I have been discussing whether it is better to be an only child or to have brothers and sisters.
I am an only child and although I didn't mind it when I was small I started to have problems with it when I was about 13. I didn't like the fact that I was stuck in the middle of my parents relationship.
I think being an only child sucks.

Mr Bin however is one of four. He thinks having brother and sisters sucks too. He feels that he didn't get enough of his parents time, and he doesn't really get on with his two sisters.

What do you think is better?

My wife bought an american style fridge on ebay
and was very pleased with herself for paying less than half the retail price. 3 months later the freezer no longer freezes and because it was an auction there's no warranty. I clearly remember saying "Don't buy a fridge on ebay you get what you pay for" she thinks I told her to buy it so now its all my fault.

so my question is.... If I leave her do I still have to pay half the mortgage? I can't afford to pay for two places and pay maintenance.

I have just seen a poster for the International Continence Society's annual conference.
I had no idea that people who don't piss themselves required an international society, although clearly it says something about me that I don't have a membership card.

Have you encountered a society for something unexpected?

I did something I'm very ashamed of over the new year but someone else did it too.
Can you guess what it was.

Sleeping pattern is fucked
Well it's my first day back at work after the festive break and last night I got 1 hours sleep! :|

This is mainly due to the fact that I haven't been going to bed until 6am over the holidays thanks to way too much partying.

Anyone else screwed themselves up over Christmas so that the first day of work is actual hell?

I have no idea how I typed this, I can barely see my eyelids are that heavy

Happy New Year?
Fourth day in and I'm already bored of people wishing me a happy new year. In fact, it's already proving itself to be an ill-omened one.

I've just swung the car out of a parking space and straight into a concrete pillar that I'd completely forgotten was there. Smashed mirror, deep bare-metal scratch on the door, big dent, ancillary scratches. I fully expect this to cost all of the recently reclaimed money I had to spend on it when somebody else went into the back of this same car two weeks after I got it.

Cheer me up, please.

Brothers and Sisters, welcome to the Not Too Spangly Church of the Jesus and Roota Chain!
The NoTSCOTJARC (catchy eh? And we'll be ditching Jesus after a while, else he'll want a cut of the offerings)
EDIT WE ARE NOW TO BE KNOWN AS TNTSCoR

I, Pastor Roota, would like to welcome you all.
My first Minsiter, Sister TGB will be passing round the collection basket shortly.

This man is my inspiration. He has made a fortune and healed many people. He can do this just by blowing them.
This is my favourite Benny Hinn era - the 90s.
This is because his hair was at its biggest and he used to get drunk on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Remember, you will not amount to anything unless you send all your money to the NoTSCOTJARC!!
Send it now! Praise and heal!

I need advice...
RE: Designing and building a website for a small start-up business - 4-5 pages - nothing too flash - need to create decent SEO to direct business in.

Question 1. Considering I know how to switch my laptop on/off, set up a network, and many other similar functions is this something I could do myself from a book?

Question 2. How much should it cost to get it done by a professional?

Question 3. Any tips/advice?

Much appreciated.

Oh - and Happy New Year to you all.

Christmas Miracle
As we all know the birth of Jebus is a magical time of wonderment and as such lots of aweosme things happen.

My Christmas miracle was that my car fixed itself. Praise Jebus and Mary and the holy goat!

Sadly I didn't win the lottery and as such am back at work which sucks and if one more person who didn't have to work over Christmas says "Feels like I've never been away!" I will hit them in the face with a die cut tray

Do you think I should have been wearing a hat?
Due to being unemployed and skint I can't afford to get the bus to work,(well some jobseekers voluntary work),so I walked only an hour and a half but, was bloody fun with all the black ice out there. I decied not to take my hat with me because i thought well I am walking I will be okay, but when i got to work people were looking at me funny and asked why my hair was white,(thinking it had been snowing maybe?),I hadn't actually dried my hair right and it was so cold the water on my hair had frozen. Walking through Bristol with hair like this no wonder everyone was so friendly.

Well I thought it was awesome, ^^.

Christmas loot
Pooling all my Amazon gift certificates, I've got £175 to spend. Rather than get an absolute ton of books and dvds, I figured I'd get one big thing.
Bearing in mind that Amazon don't do hookers, what should I get, OT?

Since we're a few days into the new year now
Tell me how you ended and started the decade. Also where you think you'll be in 10 years time. I know it's not really a new decade before anyone starts, year 0 not counting and all that, but just for fun...

I ended 1999 at a street party in Woodford, getting caught having sex with my boyfriend at the time. I was part way through my film degree and had just finished a 2 year stint working at the BBC. My plan was to move to London once I finished my degree and get a job as a production assistant or go back to my old job at the BBC.

I ended 2009 too tired to go out and party thanks to being out the night before to celebrate Clendrix's birthday and working an 11 hour shift on NYE. I've been doing my job for almost 3 years now and I still learn new things every day, so it keeps me interested. I'm currently single, but a lot happier than I was at the start of the decade.

In 10 years time I want to earn enough money to travel a bit more - vet nursing is seriously underpaid, but we're valued a bit more now than when I first started at least - meet more new and interesting people and procrastinate less.

ethical tech advice sought
if a fellow recently acquired one of those lappytop things and found an unsecured network in his locale , are there any politics about using it ?

Today's lesson
Don't clean things.

My mrs had spilt lemon meringue pie filling on the hob the other day, which had hardened to rock-like surface. While trying to clean it earlier I pulled the knobs off, and on putting them back on something broke. Now the hob doesn't work and the fusebox goes bang if you try and flick the switch.

Now I need to get a new hob (after trying and failing to fix it) this basically means I either spend £100 on a really shit electric hob like the one I'm replacing, or I buy a new fancy cooker which will eventually form the centrepiece of my fancy kitchen, a couple of years down the line.

I bought a lottery ticket last night.
I had 4 numbers match and a £108 return.

I never buy lottery tickets normally. so that was unexpected.

I'm going to use the money to buy beer. Have you had any unexpected good fortune recently?

What's the best way to cook steak?

I'm beat.
I just spent the last 3 hours talking on facebook while watching Ali G movies. Wanna know what it's about?

Ali G (born Alistair Leslie Graham) was a satirical fictional character invented and performed by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Originally appearing on Channel 4's Eleven O'Clock show, Ali G was the title character of Channel 4's Da Ali G Show, original episodes of which aired on HBO in 2003-2004, and was the title character of the film Ali G Indahouse.
Sacha Baron Cohen's character Ali G, alongside his Borat and Brüno characters, has been retired.[1]

So I proceeded to laugh at the videos, saying to myself "Hah", "Heh" and "haw haw".

The Challenge? Some sort of general casual conversation about nothing in particular.

I'm beat.
I just spent the past three hours writing my Statement of intent for admission to graduate school for Environmental and Urban Planning. Wanna know what they asked for?

A concise statement of intent is required by the Admissions Committee. The statement should be specific, well written, and should describe your reasons for applying to the proposed program at the University of Virginia, your preparation for this field of study, study and research interests, future career plans, and other aspects of your background and interests which may aid the Admissions Committee in evaluating your aptitude and motivation for graduate study.

So I proceeded to write my autobiography, drawing heavily upon my extensive vocabulary (I don't think I had ever used the word "glean" in a sentence before) and current buzzwords ("sustainability", "cyanobacteria", "deforestation") and came up with a truly impressive pile of wank.

The challenge? My son is upstairs listening to Tiny Tim. Ever tried to compose an essay while listening to "Tiptoe Through The Tulips"?

I just did a roast beef dinner
for the boyf, his daughter and her chef boyfriend. He has made Yorkshire puddings twice before.

He asked for my recipe as "he can't get them to rise to that height".
I told him what grandma always told me......you gotta be from Yorkshire and whisper into the batter "Yorkshire love, rise"

Southampton.
I'm looking at moving to a new job; what's Southampton like and where should I avoid? How about living in the New Forest and getting the train to work?

My mother just told me her friend was faceraped.
I expressed appropriate horror only to find out she meant that his Facebook account got hijacked, and when I found out what she meant I couldn't hold the phone as I was laughing so hard. I'm either completely out of the loop when it comes to the lingo or my ma has gone wrong somewhere.

I've decided after much reflection
that I'm going to start referring to this year as MMX.

for instance: "so, what have you got planned for MMX?"

cool right?

My Xbox just died
And it's not RROD so i have to pay Micro$oft to fix it. And all they accept is credit cards. I don't have a credit card.

Anybody else been in this situation? I have emailed the support team to find out where I stand.
