Saturday Night Party thread
The first CD Single I ever bought was this:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7iQbBbMAFE

I was reminded of it today and re-listened. Still think it's a cracking tune. The second was

www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_l5ETBRqFU

Which is still excellent.

What about you?

Made me laugh
In an idle moment, I plugged some text into this link From Atticus Grinch's profile. It claims that I write like H.P. Lovecraft, purveyor of all that is horrifying. What text did I enter? A copy of the last CV cover letter I wrote. This may explain a lot.

No actual question there so... Realistically, what do you expect to be doing in six months time, and how will it be better than what you're doing now?

Alt Q: Hats. Good things?

SATURDAY
It needs to stand for something. Make me an acronym/bacronym!

Alt Q: What the hell?!
(, Sat 4 Dec 2010, 10:35, 156 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Fuck
Fuck the snow, Fuck the Spanish air controllers, Fuck Gatwick management, Fuck planes being fully booked. I'm stuck in England until Thursday, we just a thousand things to do in Tenerife and a whole week of loss of earnings. I'm so, so, so upset.

So, well, now that I have nothing better to do, shall I see you tom at the bash or you have better plans?

Hate to be a bother
However, I am in need of a person who is good with Photoshop, for a little funsies and prankaloos.

I am in possession of a photograph which I need 'shopped so it may be used in a little prank on an ex of mine who, frankly, kinda deserves it.

If you are willing to accept such a request, gaz me or, yaknow, reply to this.

Ta very much!

Im now stupidly excited about the impending movie adaptation of the Dark Tower.
What books would you like to be turned into films?

Alt Q? What would Monty like for christmas?
(, Fri 3 Dec 2010, 15:26, 64 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I gritted the driveway of my work neighbour this morning as I knew I'd end up driving onto it and pinballing my way around the forecourt when I came to get my car this evening otherwise
In return they bought me hot chocolate to say thank you and invited me out for a snowball fight with their husky puppy at lunchtime. I have NEVER seen a dog love snow as much as he did :)

What nice things have you done for people that's worked out well for both of you?

AltQ: since Monty hates them, what's your favourite zombie film/computer game/tv show of all time and why?
(, Fri 3 Dec 2010, 14:18, 167 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Well that thread went the same way as Leslie Nielsen (RIP you legend), eh?
Imagine and describe your ideal nomtastic zombie lunch, and then contrast it with the meagre gruel you are ACTUALLY going to be nomming on.

EDIT fuck off Noel, I'm trying to do lunch here already.

I'm considering making Christmas presents for my family and friends this year.
Having just moved house I'm a tightwad, preferring to spend my hard-earned pittance on gas and electricity and curtains than expensive gifts for others. Over the years I've collected a couple of old oriental and Indian cookery books and I may get kiddo to help me make huge batches of proper sweet and sour sauce and curry pastes.

Would you appreciate such handmade gifts, or would you sneer and donate them to charity? If you were to make gifts, what would you make?

Friday Frivolity.
Tell me a a number related fact.

Start a new urban myth.

Good morning
It's fucking cold. Currently it's -9 where I am.

Normally I wouldn't be quite as annoyed, but I have to take 2 buses to work. With delays, I've been waiting outside for 35 minutes since 7:25. Can't feel my fucking feet.

Ah well, it's Friday, and I've managed to move my stuff into my new place, so will start organising that tonight, before going out with work and getting rather ruined.

What have you got planned for the weekend?

Alt Q: If you were use the object to your immediate left to fight waves of incoming enemies, what chance would you stand? Mine is a small box, full of polystyrene. I'm fucked.

EDIT: Fuck! Ah well, he hasn't even asked a question.

EDIT 2: Sorry about that massive picture yesterday, I didn't realise it was that large when I posted it!

Blaaaow! 'Sup, my nuckahz?
Straight up and down for the Two Gee Ten on some REAL SHIT, it's me Mont B out of the BGII, representing the HEAVY WEIGHT HIP HOP right here.

Pleasure to meet you old bean, heard a lot about you.

Hey
I just saw my first episode of Strictly Come Dancing. It was hard to see why it was addictive, but it was quite pretty and relatively enjoyable. What have you tried recently that you didn't expect to quite like?

Alt Q: your favourite dance scene in a movie/show/whatever
(, Thu 2 Dec 2010, 21:16, 127 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
*bbrrrrrrpppppppp*
I've eaten too much and I feel sick. Takeaway shrimp fried rice and some chips. I don't think it even touched the sides.

I hate myself : (

Help me think thin thoughts.

New thread time
I had a run in briefly with another girl at my college, who I share a mutual dislike with. Whenever she speaks to me, she uses my names several times within a sentence, like 'Amberl, how lovely to see you Amberl, I haven't seen you in ages Amberl' until I want to punch her. What small things really get on your nerves?

Alt Q: Favourite children's book? As in one you'd still quite enjoy if you read it now. Anything by Robin Jarvis for me
(, Thu 2 Dec 2010, 14:06, 208 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I've got a cheese and mango chutney toasty
What are you having?

After what seemed like forever in the bank yesterday
I eventually managed to get them to give me eighty quid from my account as a one off favour, to last me until Tuesday when my bank card arrives. Just checked, I have £3.20 left.

When was your last 'oh for fuck sake...' moment?
(, Thu 2 Dec 2010, 11:24, 113 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Reason one to like working for my company
at the beginning of December we all get given a big solid chocolate S each.

Lovely.

Got the first snow in Exeter last night which is nice.

How are you?
(, Thu 2 Dec 2010, 10:06, 210 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I just got up early and made rocky road bars for the office
I thought it might boost morale because we're all feeling a bit meh.
I hope it's set by the time I leave for work.

So, what do you reckon, altruism or brownie points-seeking?
(, Thu 2 Dec 2010, 7:26, 145 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
It's oh so quiet.......
It's oh so still....
(, Wed 1 Dec 2010, 21:21, 156 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
totally thread stomping
but the damn thing was dead anyway

So, I have to draw attention to one fact. I'm meeting some dude off of the internet on the weekend, so

1. Is that enough time to sharpen my murdering axe?
2. Where the hell do I take him?
(, Wed 1 Dec 2010, 18:49, 88 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Not sorry to threadstomp.
I'm babysitting instead of doing Ebay shit tonight. I get my daughter to myself (albeit at her house), a baked potato and some beef stew. These are GOOD THINGS. But it means I now cannot go and see my GF afterwards. This is a BAD THING.

Is your evening going to be full of GOOD THINGS or BAD THINGS?
(, Wed 1 Dec 2010, 16:38, 131 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Sorry to threadstomp
I've been stranded in Sheffield for the night. All I have on me is a fiver and a bottle of vodka. Getting increasingly desperate for a place to stay, even just for a couple of hours to escape the cold. Is there anyone that lives in Sheffield that could help me out a little bit? I'll share the vodka :-)

EDIT: salvation has come :-)

Today I have met my first b3tan in the pub
in our very own Barry from Eastenders. I was both shocked and disappointed to find he is neither:

a. Barry
b. From Eastenders

Honestly, he isnt even bald or fat. Shocking

What has shocked you today?

Alt Q:
What have you done for the first time recently?
(, Wed 1 Dec 2010, 14:01, 178 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
So this morning I put on a pair of newly ironed jeans
and found a tenner in the pocket. Kerching!

How has your day rocked so far?

EDIT: well, aren't we all little rays of fucking sunshine?

Okay, Alt q: how has your day sucked so far?

And I apologise for trying to inject a little brightness and happiness into your unremittingly bleak existences, you bunch of soulless cunts. ; )
