I need a (small) list of places to go to tomorrow night in Manchester
It's for a stag do. I pretty much organised everything for the day except where to go at the end of the night.

Any suggestions?

I'm on my phone and reading a thread that big on here is ultramega confusing
So I'm starting a new one.
I'm in a lecture on genetic engineering and but I've forgotten my slides booklet (again) so i may as well not have come.

What have you forgotten recently?

alt: My housemate nearly wet himself laughing at me last night when i misread "Nazis: a warning from history" as "Nazis, a heartwarming story". tell about the last time your stupidity got you laughed at.

EDIT: i am aware that you are all now laughing at my inability to post from my phone.

It's Friday!
As somebody who works from home, that means absolutely nothingto me, but I understand you wage monkeys get quite excited.

What is exciting you about the forthcoming weekend?

Alt: Have we all signed up for Randomburn? If not, why not?

Last night Ms Foxtrot suggested that Lauren Laverne was hot
I said, in the time-honoured practice of men assuring their girlfriends of how pretty they are, that she was "alright". When asked why I did not consider her to be lengthworthy (her words!) I cited her accent as offputting. Which is true.

On the same basis as the crazy/hot scale, how fit does a woman have to be to carry off an accent? For example, I would shag Kristina Rihanoff even if the sexy Russian accent was replaced with Cockney, but would have to insist on the full Brook to go Brummie.

Or, put in a slightly less sexist way, what accents wind you right the fuck up?

Alt: new uses for Libya once we've nuked it to fuck. I vote massive Jeremy Kyle studio.

Yesterday I did the 2000m challenge on the rowing machine and did it in just over 10 minutes.
GET IN!!

I'm assuming that's good for a delicate flower like me?

What challenges have you overcome lately?

Lauren Laverne
Why is she?

She feels suitably qualified to live. And explain "Super Injunctions".

Alt: how would you kill her?

Office Do
Last summer our entire office ended up on a boat trip down the Tyne to the sea and back again, complete with 4 beer tokens each and a shit jazz band. This was our thanks for a job well done (as opposed to a pay rise - cheers).

This year it would seem we are having a BBQ.

What shit things have you been forced to attend as part of work? Work does not count as a valid answer

Weird friends, have you any?
I once had a friend that wouldn't wash her hands in a public restroom as it was "gross"

alt: tell me about your weird habits, past or present.
I used to knock on wood, only in threes, if I thought something bad about someone else I would tap on wood three times. This could be endless if I was having a shit day.

Just what the world needs...
www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12983426

What's your opinion on Big Brother? I don't mean the retarded housemates, nor the unwashed masses who inevitably tune in every night, but the actual concept?

I think it was interesting as a whole, to see how people learned to interact with others in a situation where they were monitored at all times. Sadly, that's as far as it went, and I think it should have been cancelled after the first series, and all of the producers shot.

Alt Q: If you could cancel one program, and bring back another in it's place, which ones?
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:01, 145 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
In a shocking twist on an old thread style.
What shall I have for lunch?
Options are:
Cafe that does decent enough sandwiches and fry ups. Does a good crispy chicken thingy.
Fish and chip shop
Chinese takeaway but then I'd have to eat a chinese in the coffee room.
Co-op bought sandwich.

Something else.

i have been reviewing the ancient laws on distraint
and amongst dull stuff, amusing myself on the fact that you can distrain on wild animals but not pets (unless they are high value show animals or other pedigree).

what utterly random fact have you learned from your job that you can share?

alternatively, best insult or compliment you've ever heard or had.

GO!
