Is one of the best posters here. He's been a member for over 6 years. He's getting no joy getting his old profile back. He should have a treasured Furtive Icon...he currently doesn't.

Help Pob get his icon back...and please, don't have nightmares...

You got 2 FPs next to each other last week. What more do you want? I put effort into (most) of my images, and I still get ignored by and large, but you don't see me complaining. Sometimes something you've done isn't as good as you thought it was, or didn't reach the right audience.

# Low Budget Film Remakes
We've all seen the big budget movie remakes of little indie flicks. But what about posting absolutely anything in your picture folder to do with films?
(, Sat 19 Jul 2008, 18:46, archived)
# it's been happening none stop
since Wednesday as it does every time the challenge has the word film or movie attached to it. Which is most weeks.

I really don't know why they don't just rename the challenge. "take a movie poster, change it a bit" and then make the damned thing a permanent fixture and put Fraser out to pasture.
(, Sat 19 Jul 2008, 18:57, archived)
# To be fair
The image I created, I made yesterday, for the challenge, in the true spirit of the challenge. This is not an edited movie poster, or just some picture I had in my pictures folder.

My 'crime' is that I reposted it thinking some people may get some enjoyment out of it.
(, Sat 19 Jul 2008, 19:17, archived)
# I wasn't thinking of you with my comments.
I just think the challenge is detrimental to b3ta because it makes what is an otherwise social and fun board become a feeding frenzy for talentless idiots who can't wait to put their shite up because they are dumb enough to think that it is funny or relevant.
I'll never understand why they simply can't have a separate forum for image challenges and free this board up for normal use.

From Wednesday night until at least Saturday morning there is absolutely no point in posting anything that took some effort because it's not seen for more than 10 minutes before being pushed off the page by ten posts with a bit of pathetic writing on a picture who's humour only exists in the head of the idiot who believed posting it would endear him to grown-ups.
(, Sat 19 Jul 2008, 19:25, archived)
# I agree
that's a good suggestion...perhaps it's time for /challenge

I wouldn't mind if the quality was like it used to be. I seem to recall back in the day there seemed to be a fair balance between humour and ability...so you could be wowed. A truly great gag doesn't need to be perfectly rendered, but it helps. Likewise, something unfunny executed brilliantly isn't any funnier...

As I always say in the music sphere when listening to crap demos of crap songs people are wanting to produce up and release..."You can't polish a turd"

Not too much on the political front...yet... ;-)

I came out of posting-tirement since I missed it. But, I have to say, and I know I'm going to come across like an old cnut, but, it's a lot harder to find what it was I liked. As Pasanonic said...there's more chaff and fluff now than there was. I can remember posting something good, only to have it edited, tweaked, bandwagoned, re-edited and shoved up my tailpipe and I'd still be laughing.

I think we need to start a 'Get Pob His Icon Back' campaign...! Maybe I could suggest it on /talk and get told to "FUCK OFF" like usual...

# I'd very much prefer it if they would get out of the 90's
and have a proper, modern message board forum with differing sections for lots of types of stuff but that's always met with derision so whilst we stick with the archaic 15 threads to the main page then people really need to get more considerate about the utter, fucking, mind-sapping, humourless, threadwasting shit that they serve up. Regularly. They know who they are.

but that dont mean my opinion isn't valid. I mean the only people who enjoy it are the rich cunts at the wheel. Can you imagine sitting there watching cars whizz past every minute or so for hours on end. Fuck me how dull.

And have enjoyed corporate hospitality after flying to Silverstone by helicopter.
I'll be going to Oulton Park tomorrow for the British Superbikes and enjoying the hospitality of Ducati Corse who are there supporting North West 200 Ducati.

I'll be supporting the Airwaves Ducatis but might have to keep it quiet.
(, Sat 19 Jul 2008, 19:01, archived)
# This is exactly what i mean.
You fly there by helicopter and have your balls sucked by corporate lackeys. When i go to a sporting venue its to watch sport. The actual race comes a poor last judging by what your saying.
(, Sat 19 Jul 2008, 19:04, archived)
# It's not like that at all
certainly in the bike racing arena. Many who go are fanatical race fans. I'm just in the lucky position that my sister works for Ducati Corse and I take advantage of that be getting pit lane access and a good feed whilst I'm there. It's all day remember, the races don't take up all of it.

# My point is
Helicopter rides=WOO
Free Food and Booze=WOO
being behind the wheel of a supercar/bike=WOO
Sitting there watching bikes/cars whiz past from right to left for hours=PURGATORY

# Horses for courses
and I can't stand that either ( horseracing )

I play golf. I despise watching it. I play darts and snooker and think that it is ludicrous to give it TV time. I think that Tennis, Hockey, Ice Hockey, basketball and athletics should be consigned to room 101. So I'm a footie fan and a petrol head. Suits me just fine.

edit and just so that you know, I am going tomorrow for the racing ( My sis drove over earlier to give me my passes ) and I won't be boozing because I'll be driving there and back, like a lunatic on my trusty old Ducati 916.
