When I got back from tour I lost a few tapes. Well this morning I found one and thought I'd stick a few clips together (quite shoddily). Includes a bit of tank surfing and messing with the locals.
The Scorpion:
We heard that if you place a scorpion in a ring of fire, it would kill itself because it couldn't escape. We thought we'd test this, but we used too much fuel.

I'm not really sure what part of the video you're referring to?
Just seemed to me like a few army lads having a laugh in Iraq, nothing sinister.
Apart from the windmill, of course. That was sinister.
( , Tue 29 Jun 2010, 19:35, Reply)

"messing with locals" in as much as there being a language barrier and us being bored.
We actually got along great with the people out there. One Iraqi officer even asked me to marry his daughter and stay with them we got along so well. Partly due to me being quarter Indian and looking Iraqi when I got a tan though I think. I politely declined in fear of being kidnapped and having never seen his daughter...
Don't read too much in to a brief description and actually watch before you pass such comments. You'll see, as someone below had stated "there's nothing sinister". It's not like we went around beating people up or shooting anyone. In fact, on that particular tour I didn't discharge a single round.
If it offended you in any way, I do apologise. It's not what I intended.
I was just sharing something I had made, which I thought what this site was all about. Next time, I'll stick to kittens.

Raised $29,000 last year.
Watch them live!

Until Geekologie and Wil Wheaton mentioned it on Shitter. I think it's a brilliant way of raising money.
( , Tue 29 Jun 2010, 16:36, Reply)

I find it a bit sad that there's a charity raising money to give luxuries to Western kids who are ill when many children in the world die not just from illness, but good old fashioned hunger and drought.
I mean, it's always good to help people, and I'm sure their hearts are in the right place, but if it was me I'd rather the money went to some kid who has to pick grain out of rubble just to get some sustenance, than to give a terminally ill kid in the USA to provide them an XBox to play with for the last few months of their life.
( , Tue 29 Jun 2010, 17:08, Reply)

If you don't want to, don't donate. Donate to some other charity instead.
( , Tue 29 Jun 2010, 17:35, Reply)

They help to provide games, books, comics and other things that they then give to children's wards in hospitals in the US, and in the other countries that host Child's Play events.
I don't know where you got "terminally ill" from - they try to make staying in hospital more bearable for kids. Knowing several people with kids that are in and out of treatment for long term conditions, I think it's a great idea.
Also, it's not exclusive - people can give to more than one charity, right?
( , Tue 29 Jun 2010, 22:04, Reply)

I wasn't stating that these things only went to terminally ill kids. I was highlighting one possibility that could potentially happen.
Furthermore, I wasn't saying that people shouldn't help kids. All I'm saying is that there are people in this world who don't even have the luxury of food, and I think it's sad that one group of people are raising money so that these kids are 'entertained' whilst in hospital, while other, less fortunate kids in the world are dying because they can't even afford food.
It was simply an observation about the differences in lifestyles of different groups of people in the world which made me sad. The fact that Western children have decent food and healthcare, and still require additional toys and games to make their recovery 'bearable', while some children, in parts of Africa for example, don't even get food.
I'm sorry if that offended you. It's just my viewpoint. I'm not saying people shouldn't donate to this charity, or that what they're doing is 'wrong'. I'm just saying that I don't think we're as grateful for what we have as we should be.

one would think this is the first ever time that a referee has made a mistake, but it happened to england, so the rules MUST BE CHANGED NOW.
why hasn't there been the same amount of fuss about previous controversial refereeing decisions?
( , Tue 29 Jun 2010, 15:04, Reply)

There have been lots of controversial decisions before which have created fusses. Naturally not as much in the English media as it effected us less.
It's certainly not the first time large numbers of people have been quite angry and suggested that video replays might be a good idea, though. FIFA are just a bit pigheaded about the whole thing, so any chance to use an event like this to remind them why it's an issue is probably a good thing.
