This is a link post Daytrippers - 1m animation
My good friend just made this. It's very simple and it makes me smile. Much like b3ta.

In Denis's words: Have you ever been amazed at the variety of life you see hiking in the mountains? Daytrippers was inspired by the weird and wonderful characters seen enjoying the outdoor landscapes of Scotland, the UK, and Europe.
The film is inspired by classic animation of the 50s and 60s, brought up-to-date with the techniques of modern 2D and 3D digital motion graphics.

"How is it that NASA’s images of Pluto, supposedly taken from 9 million miles away, are of a poorer quality than those he took of Jupiter with his telescope from 484 million miles away?

1. The New Horizons cameras are optimised for a relatively close fly-by, not pics from 9 million miles away.

2. The light falling on Pluto is very dim, orders of magnitude dimmer than Jupiter.

3. Pluto is REALLY small, smaller even than Earth's Moon.

4. Jupiter is VERY big. Nearly 70 times the diameter of Pluto.

This is a normal post When talking about nonces in the establishment that are being protected even today it helps to put them into context within the establishment.
They matter because some may assume being an establishment nonce is the preserve of "the bloody Tories"

Also matters because Lords Janner was publically defended by his friend and fellow Labour MP Keith Vaz who spoke up in parliament to have the 1991 investigation scrapped as he was “the victim of a cowardly and wicked attack”. The investigation has since been shown to have had enough evidence for a prosecution.

Also on Labour, at the time a lot of these abuses were supposed to be taking place Harriet Harman was an official at National Council for Civil Liberties (Now just Liberty) and campaigning on behalf of the Paedophile Information exchange.

And it matters about Smith that being a liberal because he was clearly being defended yet had little party power. What hold did he have over the establishment?

(, Tue 21 Jul 2015, 14:35, Reply)
This is a normal post Why?
Do you think the thoughts and actions of an individual dictate those of all his or her associations? Jimmy Saville presented Top of the Pops. Does that mean everyone who presented it was a massive nonce? Should you have not watched it either, because you will be supporting the nonces and their cleverly crafted agenda. Watching it might even make you a nonce by association!
(, Tue 21 Jul 2015, 14:45, Reply)
This is a normal post I think the actions of a party and how they protect those accused of serious crimes is very important.
TOTP?
Not just by Saville, but other presenters (throw a rock in 70's radio 1 pool of djs), performers and even crew have been implicated and last I looked investigations were still happening into that show.
(, Tue 21 Jul 2015, 14:59, Reply)
This is a normal post Yes TOTP is probably a bad analogy.
Still I don't think the actions of individuals are anything to do with their associations/workplaces etc etc...

These crimes should be pointed at individuals and those who protected them, disregarding their association. It's just a personal opinion, I wouldn't want to taint the many with the actions of the few.
(, Tue 21 Jul 2015, 15:08, Reply)
This is a normal post Ok here's one for you.
Members of the catholic church has been accused of child abuse, senior members have been accused of covering it up.

There's also reports of abuse in the methodist and Church of England.

When reporting on this should the nature of the church be mentioned?
Or should it be redacted in order to not taint other believers of the same church?
(, Tue 21 Jul 2015, 15:32, Reply)
This is a normal post Yes it shouldn't be considered.

This is a normal post Most apart from the victim interviews is stuff i've heard about in the past.
But none was really mainstream until this program was made and is now doing the rounds on social media where it can't be affected by a d-notice.

Agree some of it's sensationalist but this has been going on for ages and the investigation is only just starting.
It's taken this long to find someone to chair the investigation that's not linked to a bloody suspect.
And if it takes a few programs like this to shame the authorities into action then so be it.

This is a normal post Not really sure what relevance your comment has.
The photo was from last year as per the text in the link, and there is no date on the Viz page.

You might just as well point out that Christopher Hitchens is dead as well.

By anyone's standards, including those of the right wing press who regularly commission her, Julie Burchill is a brilliant writer and a first class journalist.

This is a normal post I remember reading these and pretty sure the Nazis had guns.
Also these were published in the 60's where memories of 2 world wars were still strong, parts of london were still bomb sites and people were living under the threat of soviet nuclear annihilation.

Not a great environment for encouraging politically correct behaviour.

I wonder if they did a greek language version?
They'll sell like hot cakes.
