Not watched it yet but it seems to be working OK. Link to stream the movie. Go to a cinema, buy it etc. if you can, streaming and sharing will help this 'work if fiction' to be seen by more.
Dunno if it's NSFW, definitely NFFW.

but I'm not sure when I'm going to get round to it. It's not exactly striking me as a good Friday night film.

It's much funnier than you expect. And not 'ha ha laugh at the poor' funny, it's a great film.

It's the most sentimentally cloying portrayl of a bunch of "worthy" unemployed f*ckwits you'll see.
The plot as it is centre's around:
1. Single idiot mum who is too stupid to do anything except get lost and preggers and for some reason is resentful of the fact she's getting a free house and can't be bothered to getplaces on time.
2. Unemployed "heart of gold" labourer, who is a bit too ill to do manual labour anymore, but cannot be be bothered to learn ANYTHING at all to change to a desk job.
They proceed to help each other out.
There is a comedy bar brawl in a food handout centre.
I came out of the cinema feeling that even the worst of the Tory policies were too good for these lazy stereotypes.
Just avoid unless you know all the words to the Internationale or think that Jeremy Corbyn is who should be running the country.

And now I'm claiming benefits.
I don't want to be in this situation. I have interview this afternoon so hopefully things work out but for now I'm glad I can get a bit of support even if it is a small amount

I love the fact we have a social support system in the UK
That and the NHS shows that we're a caring society.
However films like this somehow suggest that people who won't help themselves are somehow being horrifically treated when actually they are being supported.
Good luck with the job search, you'll be alright!

You're correct and well done for pointing it out
Still doesn't change my point which is that Ken Loach is held up as some kind of icon for the oppressed masses when actually he just does rose tinged variants on the theme "It's grim up North".

It's a film about people complaining that welfare is a bit tough, whilst not working and getting welfare.

It's an interesting argument.
I thought the reason why people dislike plastic bags is a lot of them end in waterways and the ocean where they are bad for wildlife. i don't think carbon footprints are really thought about.

Unfortunately, this article looks like it could be used to convince people that the 5p bag tax should be dropped. The best thing about the bag tax is that it encourages people to reuse their bags.

Well funnily enough
I did used to reuse my bags. Now I have to go and buy fucking bags instead that I would have previously got for free.
Secondly, that 5p is going to charity, so that's okay then. Only which charity? Donkey sanctuary? Distressed air hostesses? The Association for the Care of Convicted Rapists? A donation is voluntary. If you're forced to donate, then it's a stealth tax.
Wake up sheeple!

Hello you bunch of reprobates.
This is happening live - there's also a NASA stream that's already started.
This is an ISS supply mission; yesterday's launch was abandoned with a few seconds to go, but hopefully it'll happen today.

I have actually seen my doppelganger. A few years back, whilst on holiday on Majorca, or such like, my daughter came back from shopping with her then boyfriend and they declared they had seen my 'spitting image'.
I said that we all had features fairly common to others ... somewhere. But they said, 'No ... this WAS your spitting image'. Anyhoos, a few days later I spotted him myself. It freaked me out. He WAS almost identical to me in every way. Right down to his physique, posture, his way of walking and even his specs! I just stared at him, jaw open. He did a sort of double-take back at me. So ... I guess there are probably dozens of 'us' out there, but this guy (who was not British, btw) would be very hard to beat in the 'likeness' stakes.
