Smaller image size
smaller palette size
lower dither - 50% usually looks as good as 100%, but with a saving of 10kb possible on even a small 50kb pic
less detailed pic - if you're using PS/IR, use the lossy options in the optimisation settings to strip out a little unnecessary detail.
less stuff changing - the echoes of "you smell" is cool-looking, but adds a couple of ks...

but seriously, i am worried. i just had a beer with a friend. every week for the past few years he has been attending meetings. these meetings have a leader. all about the afterlife. he says when the leader releases his book it will go global. i try to tell him that the leader is a conman only interested in his own ends, and you are all his sheep. i ask my friend to ask the leader to prove any of the garbage he spouts. i seem to have no effect. does nayone know of a site that can 'unbrainwash' my friend ?
i know you all hate me blah blah blah, but if you know of anything that can help, that would be cool. my friend is a nice guy, but easily lead.

in Manchester (when I was a student) a bunch of us drunkenly pinched a big huge diversion sign, and for reasons that escape me were carrying it home. A dark blue van pulled up, so we decided that it was the police, who wanted to have some stern words with us. So we hurled the sign over a nearby garden wall, and started to sheepishly mill around. The bloke in the van wound down the window and asked us to (and I quote) 'Get that fucking sign out of my garden'.

so few words are truly onomatapoeic and even those that are are often only very simple so, with so many variations to their actual aural examples that it's like trying to describe a colour.
Of course the colour problem has been solved by taking chemical forumulas and assigning often unassociated words like 'dirty musk ox brown' to them.
It would be possible but not feasible in this age to assign similar names to musical sounds only if they were all created using a synthesiser which would allow for a standardised reproduction of them in any instance.
So we have to make do as best we can with words like "toot".
