B3ta Random Burn 2007

So by apparent popular demand I'm opening up your music vaults (yes even yours) to the general public again.

Rules:

18 tracks randomly selected by your chosen music player put down on a CD.

You can have 3 complete substitutions (anything you want to showcase) and 2 same artist but different song substitutions.

You don't have to substitute any if you don't want to and you can rearrange them on the CD if you think it works better but the initial track listing MUST have originally been selected with your player on shuffle / random.

WE'RE EXPANDING! MAKE 5 CD'S TO GET FIVE BACK

All participants should sign up to this event and GAZ me their e-mail address so i can randomly find the lucky recipient of your amazing CD once we've burned our CD's.

It'll be really interesting to hear what other peoples collection is like and less fiddled with and polished than a mix tape.

(, Thu 19 Apr 2007, 20:15, Reply)
Is changing the running order to make it flow better allowed?

(, Thu 29 Mar 2007, 12:25, Reply)
'you can rearrange them on the CD if you think it works better'

(, Thu 29 Mar 2007, 12:35, Reply)
In my case it would be more of a changing all the tracks to make it listenable

My random burns have gone down into the hallowed halls of fame

I believe you can change running order, it's the tracks that are chosen that's important.

i just put mine together

it's actually quite good, it's got some of my favourite artists in it, including one of my favourite songs, and is fairly representative of my music taste :)

(, Mon 2 Apr 2007, 22:48, Reply)

Test run results

My practice run was good yesterday.

Which means the next, real, one will doubtlessly be shit.

I apologise in advance.

prepare for the sounds of me wanking over a small cat

(, Fri 20 Apr 2007, 10:53, Reply)
I HAVE A QUESTION

what if your random list picks out some chunky 15-minute-prog epics and can't make it to 18 tracks?

(, Fri 20 Apr 2007, 10:53, Reply)
make 2 cds, 9 tracks on each

that's what i did last year

(, Fri 20 Apr 2007, 23:54, Reply)
Question

Are the 5 all identical, or do we create 5 separate ones?

(, Fri 20 Apr 2007, 11:01, Reply)
Good question. Are we sending five identical CDs to five different people?

(, Mon 23 Apr 2007, 13:23, Reply)
I thought it was the same cd

to different people, at least I hope it is

I can't be doing with making five different cd's

(, Mon 23 Apr 2007, 23:58, Reply)
Cheese shoes

I am updating my tunes so that there is a better chance of good tracks. My dedication is massive. The result probably won't be.

(, Mon 23 Apr 2007, 16:41, Reply)
We're signing up as one person

despite there being two of us.

/me & him

(, Mon 23 Apr 2007, 20:03, Reply)
I'm up for this!

Get ready for some techno/metal/harcore/jungle/industrial/gothic bad noise.

You lucky people :)

(, Wed 25 Apr 2007, 16:29, Reply)
All I can hope for

is that iTunes misbehaves as much as possible leading up to this.

prepare for the painy season people ;)

(, Thu 26 Apr 2007, 22:49, Reply)
yep

indeed it has.

(, Sun 29 Apr 2007, 15:54, Reply)
im up for this but

i have loads and loads of long songs, i dont want to look like a pretentious twat for making 2 cds for 18 songs.(also just thought youd like to know current 93 has a nice song about a dead cat)

(, Sun 29 Apr 2007, 2:00, Reply)
Ha, this

I have managed to stick 16 on one CD, and that will have to be that!

(, Sun 13 May 2007, 21:18, Reply)
so

when do we find out where to send them?

(, Tue 1 May 2007, 12:52, Reply)
