I'm staggered they showed this to kids outside WM.
As far as I can recall - unless the teachers were being subtly collusive to a horribly sinister degree - the whole point of the programme (which we had to watch at school) was to discourage kids from asking for footwear that might damage their feet. Later in the programme, these fashion-conscious kids start causing themselves horrible ankle damage.
