Something similar was posted yesterday, in the form of an overly dramatic US voiceover - here's an overly dramatic Japanese voiceover with orchestral overtones, notable for the verbing of the term, 'katamari' to deadly effect.

The review is pretty funny anyway, but the comments really take the proverbial biscuit.

The comments are funny, what is about these women fans who love films like this and sex in the city which just wholly demean women?

Thinking Allowed on Radio 4 today covered this quite well, albeit indirectly. It suggested that while in the past these sort of obsessions (David Cassiday, Bay City Rollers) would fade in the late teens nowadays the internet allows general communication and social networks to build and reinforce such fan bases to the extent that they can self sustain and go on for a relatively unlimited period of time.

Yes as 'erotic' crossover fanfics go, it sounds pretty tame in the large scheme of things. But this is by the master. First learned of this guy via an X-men fic that was featured on this site (the topless robot Friday fanfiction) and posted here, so the site / column is GC but this masterpiece hopefully not.
Anyway it made me cry with laughter so I had to share.

Yes it is. I remember reading on this and on our european Hermes shuttle back in the 80's. Fun I always saw some smaller scale models of it they used to send and test for atmospheric reentry, but I've seen seen any photo of a full scale one.

(pitch is determined by size)

I'm sending to my friend who has synaesthesia :-D
Edit: Clicking rapidly in the same place making concentric circles is fun too!
Edit edit: Oooh! Oooh! Make 3 sets of concentric circles, one left, then right, then middle, makes beautiful random glitching tones, sounds almost deliberate!

Found a glitch on the concentric circle thing, seperate them by like 1 pixal and get strange noises!

BP are working very hard to keep journalists away from the gulf and its coast, especially photo/video journalists:

And at this point I do have to bring this little factoid up again...
www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/may/30/oil-spills-nigeria-niger-delta-shell
Oil spills are only a big concern when it's wealthy white folk getting covered in crude it seems.
( , Wed 30 Jun 2010, 12:03, Reply)

and you're right - it's a disgrace that is only ignored because it's happening in the "wrong" part of the world.

You could only used the while standing underneath 'rabbit' signs at certain places where there was a hotspot - like post offices, supermarkets - basically anywhere that was almost guranteed to have a cheaper and much more reliable payphone.
But then you couldn't call your mates and say "i'm calling you from a mobile! I'm actually standing outside right now!"

Anti-drugs advert (or is it more of a drug information advert?) which is really quite sensible.
Whilst Pete's couch looks like quite a good place to get stoned & some of the other places the central character goes to look like nice places to be stoned also.
I think the final sentence should have been 'I'll take my chances out there whilst stoned also.'
( , Wed 30 Jun 2010, 10:58, Reply)

It's a nice "if you do mild drugs, you won't die, but why not get a girlfriend you unintelligent drone?"
( , Wed 30 Jun 2010, 11:08, Reply)

(OK perhaps not the girlfriend thing but lack of motivation at least)I like the real deal humorous approach it has. I can see the initial comedy being quite entertaining to a stoner but in the long term when they have their moments of nothingness they will remember this ad.

But still. There's people who come home from work, sit on the couch and watch TV for hours on end, doing nothing... and they're not on drugs.
