# trust you
to get technical ;)

as the artist, can you make any recommendations for framing my painting?
(, Wed 19 Nov 2003, 9:46, archived)
# Don't frame it is my suggestion,
I picked that nice chunky canvas because they don't need framing...but if you do want it framed...take it to a framing shop.
I'm not sure what sort of frame would suit it.
(, Wed 19 Nov 2003, 9:49, archived)
# me neither
that's why I thought I'd check first

the chunkiness is nice, and works well as-is, especially with the edges painted up as well :)

and you have a nice eye for colour and tone.
Tracey Emin (or whatever) calls herself an artist and I bet she would know which end of a paintbrush to dip in the water.

Can you believe this. Our seccie was called away yesterday as her uncle was in a car accident and was ulikely to pull though.
She comes in this morning, he's dead, she a mess.
Our manager is in London on training, so instead of spending 20 minutes ringing around to find her and let her know, we sent the seccie off saying that we'd let Kerry (the manager) know.

Kerry phones, asks if she's in, I explained the situation and now she is in a strop as she would have liked to talk to the seccie.

If they'd sounded more like the chipmunks, or if it hadn't been promoting violence, even in jest, it might've been work waiting for 7 meg to download at 80k/s.

edit: I was kinda hoping for a sequel to Gonads and Strife :)
edit: Impressive lurking btw. 7 posts in 234 days.

# Haven't had a look
at that but I went skiing once and did my back in so I spent the rest of the day sitting on the coach chatting to the driver. He told me about a prank they used to play when he was a mechanic.

Take an oxy welder and a garden variety balloon. Set the oxy to a welding flame then stamp it out on the bench. Fill the balloon with the gas mix and tie it off.

Now take a tuft of steel wool, stick it to the balloon with tape and wire it to the starter motor. Close the bonnet.

When the hapless driver goes to start the car, the wool burns, releasing and igniting the gas which goes kaboom in a big fashion, vapourising the balloon.

He claimed it blew the bonnet clean off the car. I haven't verified the theory but why let the truth get in the way of a good story :)
