# Well
cos that exact photo was on about half an hour ago with different text.

I imagined it was a bandwagon
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 10:47, archived)
# I Fucking hope not
It was just a response.
If I'd been a bit quicker off the mark I would have posted it as a reply.
Please - no Bandwagoning - it's not worth it.

BadgerBadgerBadger's gone so fucking Viral that anyone could've done it.
The hosting site doesn't offer any clues on how to contact the maker either.

# Super-big posters
I've got access to a super-duper A0 colour printer at work, and would quite like to print out a stylish poster for the wall of my bachelor pad, perhaps to go above my table football table.

Has anyone got any suggestions? We're talking major high-resolution if possible, otherwise each pixel will look the size of my fist.

so you're a climber and flew in an Raf sea king....... the first thought is that you fell off and got rescued?
if so read this
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 10:41, archived)
# Not me
My climbing partner took a fall ice climbing, his gear ripped, and he landed badly. They gave me a lift to hospital too.

You could follow up that article with comments to do with we should all stay wrapped up in cotton wool in our beds. Who pays when a child falls badly off a swing and breaks their legs? The public. Who pays when an RAF chopper comes and picks up a climber? The public. Who pays for the mountain rescue folk? The climbers, walkers and mountaineers who donate money to them.

Edit: I see that page is part of a ramblers site. Look at Mountain Rescue statisitcs: 85% - 90% of rescues are of walkers and ramblers.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 10:45, archived)
# not a ramblers site matey
just what I do for a living
and if you noted I apologised to real cragrats
it's aimed at the numptys, I've had to guide them of myself a few times
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 10:52, archived)
# Fair enough
was a bit ambiguous about whether you were still having a dig :-)

Gah, tell me about the numpties. Best one I came across - It was pissing it down in Snowdonia, so I went for a scramble (Snowdon Horseshoe). Knowing that if I traversed around to the right on Crib Goch I could get some easy climbing to solo, I came across a group of people in kappa tracksuits, bright white trainers, and one of them had some plastic waterproof thing more suited to a music festival. They were sitting, shit scared on a ledge.

"Is this Snowdon?"

Guided them to the PYG track, and pointed them in the direction of said mountain, including showing them the red notice they had walked past saying "This isn't Snowdon"
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 10:59, archived)
# gonna fall of the board soon
so I'll catch you up top, got so many numpty tales one on Pathfairies "true encounters" addy in profile, know loads of cragrats who are good folk, meself I only climb for work don't see any pleasure in it but whatever gets you going is fine by me
