i realize this may not answer your question.
so let me elaborate:
my friend plays in two different groups as a drummer for jazz and metal.
one day we made a campfire at my house and took mushrooms as a ritual sacrament.
i am a didgeridoo player and throat singer.
he had been singing a song like "i am a cucumber...please do not take me to the pickle farm."
we decided to play a rhythm in the time signature 23, which included 3 measures of 6/8 and one in 5/8.
after doing that for a while we started saying "i am a cucumber" for every measure of 6 and "i'm a cucumber" for every measure of 5.
after doing that for a while i started playing it on the didgeridoo with circular breathing, and throat singing it.
the throat singing rounded off the consonants into "royabagigaba royabagigaba royabagigaba roybagigaba."
after doing that for a while we did it four times but the fourth time instead of having a 5 at the end, we used 3 measures of 2 to make another 6.
this switched the emphasis of the syllables from "I am a CUcumber" to "I am A cuCUMber," and from "ROYabaGIGaba" to "ROYaBAgigAba."
this equals 1 measure in 93/8 time, or 2 measures, 1 in 46/8 and 1 in 47/8, or 4 measures, 3 in 23/8 and 1 in 24/8, or 16 measures, 13 in 6/8 and 3 in 5/8, or 33 measures, 27 in 3/4 and 6 in 2/4, or 93 measures in 1/1.
93 is the greek qabbalistic gematia number for the true will of man, and in thelema is the number for love, the law under which all in the universe operates.

Dead Space is the same
It's 'Boo' horror rather than psychological (see Silent Hill). And the fact that enemies are killable and don't respawn makes a second run more about keeping things tight, tense like a TF2 match rather than tense like you're about to be eaten.
