This show was in Brum and it is absolutely as awesome as you would imagine. The staging, the structure of the show, the dinosaurs and the human performers bringing them to life were all utterly brilliant. I command you to see it.

And they almost plug into each other...but somehow they never quite bridge the gap.
They're permanently just a few millimetres apart, and that's all it takes for the connection to fail.
The two ends can't even used as separate slots for another device, they're permanently fused together by the ring. And besides, even if they're not close enough to actually join, the two sides are so close you couldn't fit anything else between them. They're just stuck in a permanent limbo, never quite satisfied or completed forever.
Also it's a nice wedding ring.

Did I hear that episode was banned because kids tried to copy it?

What a sorry bunch of kids, copying shit off of Last Of The Summer Wine. They need to do more than ban the episode, they need to take the kids into foster homes to prevent them from being subjected to that shit ever again.

called "Metal - A Headbangers Journey". Well worth a watch if you have even a passing interest in The Metal. I haven't really listened to much since school but it's still a really fascinating film.
Also, they're not all as errrr.... intense(?) as this guy. Some of them even smile!

A lot of the best bands are staffed by mentals. Gaahl is totally hatstand, but a seriously charismatic and intense frontman.

A little mood piece experiment I made about a month ago. A slightly neurotic man is doing a lengthy monologue about a startling experience he had, relating it to his theories about dream-perception. He then discovers that his listeners have long dissappeared and he starts exploring the strange environment (leading to an encounter with a living balloon-... thing... yeah).
It probably isn't laugh-out-loud funny, but I've tried to give it a self-referential-pisstakery quality that might trigger a few smiles at least. :)
English subtitles are in yellow (sorry if this is a bit confusing with the text-intro.)

Original version in Russian with English Subtitles. There are other Tarkovsky films available at this site (Stalker, The Mirror etc) but I haven't checked to see if they are subtitled...was too excited about Solaris being available online. I have watched this film several times.... Its much better than the soderbergh version.

The subtitles on my copy don't work on disc 2, resulting in me watching the first half with subtitles and the second half dubbed. For some reason the characters have different names in the subtitled and dubbed versions!

Have you read Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky Brothers - the book Stalker is based on?
It's as good if not better than Lem's Solaris.

Nothing shatters the illusion more than when the actors finish, and just walk off. But if they're on a train, they can do the act, then still leave the 'stage' in character.

People have been making fun of old spice for ages. My dad wore it, so why would I? Fact is the younger generation responds to this sort of tongue-in-cheek sarcastic lameness (at least in the states). That's where the money is anyway, not us old farts (me, being all of 28 years).

It was a shit drink only sold at chip shops, then they came up with a ridiculous campaign based on violence and seemingly random insults and stuff, but it was aimed squarely at savvy children and teenagers. Soon enough everyone was 'tangoing' each other while slurping down lots of delicious delicious orange soda. Advert wins
