That
was oddly bitter-sweet, I nearly didn't watch as this whole Auto-Tune thing is really getting everywhere now and I'm looking forward to the backlash, frankly, however, as ever, it's never the method, it's the result that matters, and that, for me, worked a bit too well, I could actually have stood a few more minutes of that, ended too soon, and that don't happen often!

The MS conference
was the worst conference it has ever been my misfortune to witness. I'm surprised they didn't offer the audience sick buckets at the end it was that twee. As for minecraft, it runs on java. Sony and Nintendo only need to port the open java platform over and that exclusive tag goes straight out the window. Last time I checked I had a mic so why the hell should I need to pay £100 for a camera to shout voice commands? I'm ranting now....Microsoft suck donkey balls...there, I said it.

'Exclusive' means fuck all on its own in the video games industry.
Microsoft haven't come out and said how exclusive it is. It's either genuinely exclusive to the 360 in terms of home consoles, or is merely a timed exclusive where it will be some months before a PS3/Wii release.
Same with Sony Ericsson. It's "Exclusive" to the Xperia Play in that it's a plain old Java Android app only being sold on the Xperia Playstation store and not the Android Market. For now.

The onscreen avatar
doesn't seem to be doing much of what the player is doing, but it's hard to judge as we don't know what the action IRL is meant to generate onscreen, really, tho that leaning forward 'force run' thing looks kinda odd.
I'm not a fan of the whole leaping about like a knob to play a computer game malarky anyhoo TBH, had a Wii in the early days and altho fun for a few parties the novelty wore off REAL quick!

Agreed, there's a limit to how much you can expect any avatar to reflect what the player does.
And the avatar needs to be able to do more than the player can; but it does look totally unresponsive to what the player's doing.

in fact - that would be the perfect solution!
They could say its a side-story set between the first and second films where obi wan gets hospitalized, but they still need him in battle. He can float around in a hover-wheelchair, and his delayed spasms and arm waves could be attributed to his injuries and medications.

Then again, you wouldn't need much graphic processing to show how much you weigh, or how good you are at swinging a remote around.

I think I'll stick with the old Jedi Knight games, or even Force Unleashed until the technology improves and there is a free-roaming (unlike what looks like an on-rails affair), really responsive game.
To be honest, I wold have thought a free roaming lightsaber game would be more suited to the PS3 with the move controller for a lightsaber and the navigational contoller for movement...

I don't know how well playlist's transfer onto b3ta, you may have to click the original link, some parts are in HD, some are pretty crappy, if there's owt you're not into just click the time bar to the end and wait for the next, and I got some brief advertising here and there, but found a lot of this real interesting, particularly seeing how much they built, and how much Jeff Bridges was onset.
There's a nice bit of Daft Punk arriving in full costume at one point, and Jeff Bridges saying, 'Sodapop, ready to rock!' when testing his facial motion capture rig is oddly endearing (the start of B-Roll Footage Part 2).

The audio/visual experience works well I think, if you have a decent sound system, as that makes a huge difference,
all except for the nightclub bit, interestingly, tho that might be just 'cos the owner annoys me there, I know we're not meant to like him but it was like finding a bloke in a wig, wimmins knickers and stockings feeling the lead's bum in the middle of the film, everyone else had a sort of sub-sexual robotic sort of feel to them but suddenly here's this camp OTT queen dancing preening and screaming, he didn't fit in to the rest of the film and it just didn't rest well IMO.
Also that final chase scene was horrifically confusing I thought.

We were SERIOUSLY ripped off for that in this country
have a search for 'Tron, Unboxing' on Youtube, the Tron Ultimate Blu Ray Collection you can only get in Merka is lovely, a plastic replica of a Tron disc that lights up when you hold it, ours is just a crappy cardboard box and has instantly become notorious for being a complete rip-off (Between £70 - £90 is about average).

Detailed satallite pictures of the earth
These are updated daily, hi resolution is available. better than google earth - because they were taken today or yesterday. Some of the shots arent exactly full UK either, still...
And no - you cant see your car parked outside work, but they are kinda purdy all the same
Edit:
More stuff linked to the site
www.esa.int/esaEO/SEM8HJNSNNG_index_0.html
Edit:edit: you should be able to locate sat pictures like the below:
esamultimedia.esa.int/images/imageoftheweek/ash-contrails-ireland-ukMER_FR_20110524_48270_H.jpg
Taken earlier this week. Notice how close the plane trails in the sky look to the surface of the earth.

I spent a week on a small rural airfield, and have seen fighter jets deliberately fly to the point where they are inches off the runway (aborted approach)
The point being that they can practice, but don't have to pay a landing fee to the airfield! Cunning yanks - coming over here... etc

Kirsten Dunst vs. her parents.
Home video footage of the actress being "interviewed" by her parents to
prepare her for TV shows promoting "Interview with the vampire" (1994).
Two things:- Interesting reaction to Tom Cruise & no wonder half of
Hollywood needs therapy.

Wouldn't suprise me if it was like, just very odd to watch it. I'm currently reading Drew Barrymore's book about her teenage adiction, snorting coke and drinking heavily at 13, Hollywood is a really fucked up place :s

We started in OMT
then briefly stopped off in The Retreat before ending up downstairs in 'mingos until oh-my-god o'clock.
'mingos was weird. £8 to get in the main bit, or "walk past the bar and down the stairs then pay that bloke a fiver" to get into the bear night downstairs (which was much more fun anyway)
