Bring Glastonbury to London for a year
Not content with having major international art galleries, museums etc etc etc, That London is now trying to steal events from Somerset - a county that has a public arts budget of zero - in order to prop up their capital of culture bid.
hopefully Eavis will tell him where to stick it

I went to Chernobyl. It was freaky
I made this!
I enjoy going on holiday to places that are, well, a bit off the beaten track. So I thought, if I can survive Best Korea, then I can easily survive Chernobyl and Pripyat.
Creepiest bit was definitely the abandoned schools. Half-done school work strewn about the place and toys just left there.
Oh, and Kiev is freaking amazing. Love that city. Very cheap too, and of course not many other tourists (although there's no reason to avoid it at all - it's just as safe as any other European capital).

Lucky Bastard
I went to Ukraine last month but my wife wouldn't let me go to Pripyat. I even took my big camera with me just in case she changed her mind.
Mind you she had to live through it so I can understand why the locals think this tourism is a bit strange.
Rather than admit the problem and distribute Potassium Iodate to save their health the bastard government lied, and then countered rumours and radiation readings with a story about the Dutch having a nuclear accident. My missus was shipped to Kiev for the May Day parade as a Komsomol school kid and says there was a strange yellow rain falling on them.
I thought Kiev was really expensive - in Lviv we went out for a slap up meal at the best place in town (foi gras for my main thank you), with wine, and then on to the opera with the best seats in the hose, all for £35 for two.

See also Sloe Gin (or Sloe Vodka). When the summer comes to an end raid the hedgerows for the sloes. Shove into bottle of vodka. Wait. Drink.
Anything can be turned into booze. I've had wines made from odd things like pumpkin, parsnip, nettle. All good.
Lemoncello can't be beaten on a hot day like this.
