He's a nutcase, but he will certainly be more exciting than the other two.
I also expect the anti-civil liberties crowd, the anti-war crowd, and the environment crowd, et al, will be happier because they get to come out of the closet.
Snowden's biggest sin was not doing his big reveal under a republican administration.

That's if we make it to the US election. According to the EU President voting out could spell the end of Western Civilisation.

Someone exchanged gunfire with him on his way in to the club.
So your "If only we all had guns!!" logic doesn't really hold true.
Maybe the guy who exchanged gunfire didn't have a high calibre gun like the other guy though, so maybe you all need BIGGER GUNS.
So where does it all end? You all drive around in tanks? Then someone will get a bigger tank, and it will all start again.

First I heard that someone exchanged gunfire with him. Did they shoot at him out of the blue, or because he looked threatening?
Actually, the reports say he shot the armed security guard in front of the club. Then he held unarmed hostages for four hours, slowly killing them at will.

How you couldn't have heard about him exchanging gunfire at the entrance is beyond me, i think you pick the stuff that backs up your opinions and ignore everything else.
Nice tank, by the way.
( , Tue 14 Jun 2016, 14:55, Share, Reply)
Well, this is exactly what I said, right? He shot the armed security guard (an off duty police officer)
He shot a bunch of people, then the cops showed up. He shot at the cops, then he holed up with unarmed hostages. And an AR15 is not an "automatic rifle".
I suspect if he had been an anti abortion nutter who threw dynamite into a club full of abortionists we would be speaking of hate and larger zones of protection rather than dynamite control.
I bought the tank to match my shorts.

"If only someone there had a gun...."
*supplies evidence that someone had a gun and exchanged gunfire with him (doesn't matter if they were in the club or outside, by your logic a man with a gun can stop a man with a gun - hence you wanting everyone to have guns)*

The reporter describes it as an "assault rifle"
The interviewee is the person calling it an "automatic rifle". I suggest you take up the matter with her. You'll soon find out whether people on the wrong end of it consider the distinction to be important.

You're right, the distinction is ludicrous and only really used by politicians to fear monger.
The only distinction is cosmetic, i.e. does it look "scary". It has nothing to do with caliber or semi vs. fully automatic.

Nor the look.

Nor the fact that it's only a semi-automatic.
The scary thing is that any fucking fucked-up fuckhead can get hold of an assault rifle at the drop of a hat. Your gun laws are quite literally arming terrorists.

I think AK-47s are illegal in France, yet that didn't really stop anything did it?
And with the voter registration drive at the southern border, narco, sex slave and arms traffickers are having a field day (I'm not even mentioning the arms sent by the current administration to Mexico, resulting in the death of at least one federal agent and thousands of Mexicans - that was supposed to make guns look bad). I know of no other country so negligent with their own borders. Maybe Europe...
When people speak of the muslims, they say, "we can't generalize for political advantage", but don't seem to have the same muzzle for their anti-gun rules.
And neither the laws on the books, nor the laws that the president recommends would have stopped this nutcase. Only left more law abiding people without a means to defend themselves.

Isn't that just because
hate crimes by Christians wouldn't be classed as religiously motivated?
The KKK would describe themselves as a Christan organisation and American Evangelicals spout plenty of homophobia and send their money off to Uganda to fund anti-gay propoganda. They must have plenty of blood on their hands too.

I believe that the majority of the muslim terrorist attacks in the past 40 years have been "in the name of"
Compare that to Sirhan Sirhan, who killed Robert Kennedy - that assassination wasn't considered a religiously motivated one.
As I recall, the KKK was founded to stop Irish immigrants, then Catholics, then moved to blacks as a last resort. As for evangelicals, there are so many different sects, but none have it as part of their creed to kill the non believer. Maybe you don't see the same problem I do, but the statistics are pretty grim.

Not quite. Those figures are for whether it is morally wrong. The C4 documentary was specifically about it being legal.
Overall for the British public the attitude is only 5% of Brits believe being gay should be illegal. Compared to 52% of British muslims. That's quite a disparity in attitudes.
Which is why it is baffling why people like Owen Jones are so keen to jump to the defense of people who want to criminalise them because of who they love.

there is a bigger problem in the wider "liberal communities"
one of the "tenets" of liberalism is to respect others beliefs and to not get shitty with people whose beliefs contrast yours...
so freedom of religion tends to get a "pass" from liberal people...
however, most religions are fiercely "ANTI-liberal" so it's an odd situation, it's a bit like throwing a party for people and man eating lions, and arguing that "the lions should be allowed in... even if they want to destroy me and everything about me"
now that's fucking retarded, liberals should be AGAINST religion as it's fiercely anti-liberal.
There has been a complete liberal pandering to islam, when the fact is, it's a religion, those are retarded and outdated, and leads to shit like this...
I consider myself a liberal, support peoples right to fuck who they want, and do mostly what they want... but religion is the exception... it's anti-me, so i'm anti- it.

it depends if any of those beliefs
come with rigid organisational structures, and ambition for majority control of people and the planet... because that's where a belief and a religious belief tend to part company.

I was FUCKING lucky,
came over the top from Alderley Edge to Macclesfield, no lights on the roads at all. Some arsehole in a saxo basically seemed to come right at me, headed for his back wheels as I was blinded by his full beams and fogs, missed him and threw myself to the floor and just slid. Luckily It was a farm covered outside with cow shit that let me slide into their barn wall, followed by my bike which then smashed my ribs. I could actually get up and ride home. Where I then broke down in tears and realised the shit in my trousers wasnt from a cow, lol.

I'm not at all convinced by this
It looks very similar to another video where the tow cable was attached about halfway down the chassis - in the final video it was clear that the car didn't slow down noticeably until it was about halfway crushed, and looking at the momentum in the massive drum that was pulling the car it's not surprising. Still, if it puts the shitters up people then job done!

Is it because Labour posted a leaflet through my front door saying "Remain"?
My door quite clearly says "no unsolicited mail" on it. So I'm now voting for exit. I shall enjoy voting exit as it appears to really annoy some people and I enjoy annoying people.

very interesting but I'm more concerned about the future
the history of the EU highlighting its failings is hardly a manifesto of why it would definitely be beneficial for us to leave economically, socially IN THE FUTURE. We all know that the Euro is in trouble now and there's a refugee crisis now.

Professor Alan Sked - Founder of UKIP - Receiver of dodgy money from Putin - Arron Banks - Etonion Tory bankers. As much part of "the establishment" as you can get.
Just another bitter old grey failed tory blaming every failing in the govt's on the EU for bent money.
There is a good reason all these old tory bankers are backing brexit, so they can get their hands on the NHS/prisons/schools/ambulance service/ etc etc at a knock down price when brexit bankrupts the country in a few years time.
Vote out to be bigger slaves to a smaller pot of hard right tories.

TTIP- Boris for PM! is well up for it and sees no problem with it at all.Farage wants to sell off the NHS. IDS and Grovel also very happy with TTIP.
TTIP has currently had over 100 modifications put in by the Germans and French and at this time looks like it will get ripped up totally in this current form.
Obama said a couple of months ago a post brexit UK would be at the back of the line till TTIP was passed in the EU - looking at around ten years.
I am sure the Americans will be dangling TTIP infront of a post brexit govt and saying - Take it or leave it....
So yes you are at more danger of TTIP voting out.
Bankers - depends on which ones - the public ones or the shadowy ones funding brexit via Panama and Bermuda. That is where the real wealth lies right now..
( , Tue 14 Jun 2016, 16:21, Share, Reply)
The French are going to block TTIP unless it excludes their health services. Our government would just agree now.

the thing is
it's never going to get any better than a "choose your own adventure book" which basically mounts down to "how many times can you read a book wrongly, before you get it right".
Truly interactive storytelling is only possible through human improvisation... and that's when it becomes something more than a frustrating "error your way through this narrative"

so are you going to play it over and over and over again?
because otherwise you are going to be paying for an awful lot of content that your variations and choices will never lead too...
Games are great for interactivity, and occasionally the narrative aint bad...
movies are great for narrative and a wonderful sensory overload of staring at "stories"
I see no need to combine these two.... personally speaking of course.

Yeah the problem is the game starts to grow exponentially as you provide the player more choices with unique outcomes
So the game eventually has to merge outcomes which feels hollow and unsatisfying. Not to mention that it's such a curated experience that no solution you find ever feels novel.

In 1971...
Was there while still in the US Navy, a quick bit of "Rest and Relaxation" - we found a new hotel that had just opened and had plenty of vacancies. It was 4.5 Star quality and not expensive, great food and views. Probably torn down by now. It was an interesting city to visit as a 21 year old.
