Some shapes on a tree have come together to form something that, if looked at in the right light, from the right angle, looks like a face.
Also, all faces look alike. So this face must be the face of Jesus!

most people weren't successful.. the majority of my mum's clients were servants or poor people, in different times.. some 'remembered' being from places they know nothing about in this life. Its mostly a remembrance of a certain experience in a previous life connected to a problem with your current one - one was claustrophobic apparently because she'd been a nun hiding in a cupboard while an army ransacked the convent. Stuff like that.
Although having said that, I'm still fairly skeptical of it myself.

I'm still not sure exactly what it is.. a lot of people seem to think its actually real. Personally I think its a construct that the mind creates to explain some current-life problem.
But then again, maybe it is real. I mean, its no less provable than any religion..

that studies have proven that people who are asked to pretend that they're hypnotized or are having past-life regressions can do and say the same "remarkable" things as those who supposedly undergo hypnosis, including "forgetting" everything that happened, feeling relaxed, biting into an onion, etc. etc.
No matter what you call it, it's a joke.
( ,
Thu 18 Aug 2005, 16:34,

No matter what you call it, it's a joke.

in real hypnotherapy, you always know what's going on - and you remember everything that happened.
Its just a relaxed state in which your subconscious is more open to suggestion (as in the stop smoking etc therapy) or examination (as in the past-life regression).
Also, memories from current lives are the most proliferent, and are usually traumatic events which the subconscious mind has erased all conscious memory of, but where the trauma still remains in the form of an affliction.

Almost all traumatic events ARE remembered, and quite clearly.
Electrical brain activity in relaxed or hypnotic states indicates that hypnosis is no more of a special state of consciousness than it is a social role playing. Patients show a response to hypnosis out of the expectation that it will work, or that they should be acting a certain way. They give the hypnotist the authority to suggest things to them, then they follow them of their own volition.
