(mediocreha ha ha, you're reading this,

No, it was meant as a HDR
I like images that use HDR on the basis that it makes the person looking at it actually see it. It adds a bit of a surreal element to what would be an unremarkable picture otherwise.
At the end, it's all down to personal taste.
That and it sort of hides the fact that my lens is shit.

Ran out of ideas for music icons
so worked on another film-star picture instead
Click for link to download the 10MB 300dpi A2-size readable version - hosted on MediaFire as I've now run out of webspace :(
This is using part of the screenplay from 'Rebel Without a Cause'. I've also had to change the background from one shade to 4 shades, but as with all the others, there's no part of the original picture left in the end result :)
took the picture and overlaid the text (pure black) as a text layer. Duplicated the text layer 7 times and then lightened each layer to the shades I wanted. Then used the Select Colo(u)r tool to pick the areas of the original picture that matched the shade of the text layer. Inverted that selection and removed it from the text layer. Repeat that for each text layer. I normally then just add a single colour layer as the background, but it didn't work with this image, so I masked out certain areas and made a solid fill with 4 shades, giving a VERY rough picture with the text overlaid on top. I can post up a composite picture showing each layer building up to the final image if you want :)

the following file
is an animation of the picture building up from scratch. The first frame is the original picture, the second is the new background layer, consisting of 4 shades. Then each layer of text is added in and finally you get to see a single colour background and why it doesn't work with this image.
