whacking out all the code that supported power pcs let apple claim to have streamlined it by saving about a gig or so, i think it is. streamlining = make half your users' computers unusable with the new os. they buy new machine. profit! apparently there's quite a lot of changes in snow leopard that the normal user doesn't see. at the minute, this big gay mac user is still just using normal leopard...

I can't help noticing everytime I get on the tube how badly made those ads are.
Especially the one of the woman with the slogan "I asked for fewer clicks, so I got fewer clicks". the font they've used is incredibly narrow and so its impossible not to read the 'c' and 'l' as a 'd'...

The plant in the background is soft pencil on teabagged (fnar) paper,
Then the colour is mainly from another second of teabagged paper. The wood-grain texture to the right is from some printmaking I did, as is the overall background texture, you can see that easier to the top right of the image. Then the little tree in the bottom left is scanned in from tracing paper. The main picture in the middle was drawn by hand then traced over and shaded in Photoshop :]

(

Yeah - It's a real let down
I used Gaussian blur on Gimp to take the edge off the sharper modern images. The source image for Mandy is a rather benign promo shot .... Now tweked to unleash the inner menace

In shop I would
A. make a few layers, 1, very blur, 2 mid blur, 3 real pic, 4 very sharp. 5, one jpg saved to get blocks I'd then mix an match with opacticy. OR B. Just blur out one colour channel. pick the one with the most detail and knock it down a bit. not too sure how with the gimp. Gaussian blur is a bit of a hammer.

Dear Michael Caine
You are very good at saying words that come out of someone else's head. However, when you say words that come out of your own head, you just look like a fool. I thought you might like to know that for the sake of looking like less of a prick in future. Your friend Enzyme.

I'm all for it if it doesn't involve any shooting of guns or teaching kids who the "enemy" is

Respect isn't something you teach
it's something you earn. And you don't need national service for discipline. I reckon I turned out OK without NS, so I don't see why others wouldn't.

A friend of mine
was recently roped into being in the Pudsey suit for a Children in Need event (the guy who was supposed to do it was drunk and about 300 miles away from the event). Before suiting up he had to read and agree to the rules, such as 'you may not speak when dressed as Pudsey' and 'you may not take the head off while in view of the public'. The most important rule, taking precedence over everything else was, 'always wave or clap when photos are being taken, because PUDSEY BEAR CANNOT BE SEEN TO BE TOUCHING THE CHILDREN!'
