Due to the suggestions of the regulars that have done this last year and that, I am going to hold it on
THURSDAY 20TH DECEMBER as it's apparently easier for everyone else.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Righty ho, this was a hoot last year, and the place is both easy to get to,
does excellent beers brewed by the Porterhouse company, and very good food.

London - accessible, nearest tube is 30 seconds walk from Covent Garden.

The pub itself is huge, and we pretty much took over one half of the lowest of the 3 large floors, as over thirty people turned up.

We're a very friendly lot, though we do have some strange jokes, so turn up early afternoon until about midnight and beyond.

Look forward to seeing as many people as were there last year!

The last time I went to the Porterhouse I wasn't allowed to go in because they've made it over 21s only.

I may have just got a bouncer on an off day, and I can't find anything about it being over 21s on't'internets but... may be worth keeping in mind.

I've just phoned them and they have confirmed that it is over 21s only. Were many 18 - 21s planning to come? If so it may be a good idea to look for an alternative venue.....

Suggestion:

Discuss this on the board with the people who regularly go.
It has always been the week before Christmas, & on a weekday, & that seems to work best for most people.
I personally find weekends easier, but it's pointless if lots of nice people can't go.

Show of hands, who'd prefer/still be able to make Weds 19th/Thurs 20th?

There will be a big sack at the venue, wrap your gift and place it inside and get a ticket.
When all have arrived then Lady Claus (Mrs HB) will allow everyone with a ticket to have a gift from her sack.

previous years have seen such gems as a packet of comedy moustaches and a bottle of lube.
