I know a lot of people here hate cyclists...
...not sure on the opinion of motorbikes though. Personally I love 'em, and I particularly like this one - to me this is a work of art.
So for any motorbike fans on B3TA, here's a lovely Indian Scout custom for you (if you like bikes and haven't seen this site before, well worth a browse):

Nice!
I'm fed up with the weather and thinking BMW tourer (R1150RT) now. Would love a nice classic bike though. I live in Poole and look at all the lovely bikes on the quay on bike night with envy! Had a Brough Superior and a Vincent Black Shadow down there recently, both being regularly ridden. I'd be happy with a nice Honda CB400 four for now...

The black shadow is a beautiful bike, never had the pleasure of riding one, but the sound they make is amazing,
pretty too. Honda CB 125 was my first bike, good reliable series. Plus they feel a bit safer than most.

Can't beat Hondas for reliability
and they can be fun too! Old ones can be surprisingly pretty as well. Here's the old 400/4. I love the pipes, and I love the lines of the tank. Slightly dropped bars and sort out the seat/tidy the rear lights and this would be a lovely bike!

Good film, same bike (although this is based on a 1940 scout and I believe the subject of the film was a 1928). Well worth a watch if you've not seen it before anyway, whether you like bikes or not!

I would love a sportsbike
especially the likes of a GSXR (the one modern sportsbike that isn't currently obsessed with electronic assitance), but at a shade over 6'2", I don't tend to be too comfy on them for more than 10 minutes!
I sat on a BMW R1000 recently and didn't feel I'd even be able to safely operate the brake given how little space I had!

Open the link above in a new window. Pause it almost immediately as the car passes the shadow cast by the gantry.
Ok, got that? Good.
Now open www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkKM01rCK1o&t=8m30s in another new window and pause it.
Make sure you can see both videos side by side.
Unpause the second one, then as it passes the gantry shadow, unpause the first.
Sit back and enjoy onboard cameras of the two cars battling for the lead of the VLN race on the final lap at the Nurburgring.

It's quite amusing to read how much H.G. Wells hated the film - "It gives in one eddying concentration almost every possible foolishness, cliché, platitude, and muddlement about mechanical progress and progress in general served up with a sauce of sentimentality that is all its own."

Every year during monsoon season we would have fires in New Mexico from the lightning strikes.
The largest in US history has burned a significant part of the state. The difference is the presence of humans that makes it tragic. But, it is something you should understand and accept if you live there. Much like living on a river that floods every year.
