This isn't a vector as it stands, as it's a jpeg. Which is a bitmap graphic that uses pixels.
Vectors are based on maths rather than pixels.
That's why you can resize a vector upwards but a bitmap image looks like utter shite.
Hmm, that probably didn't help, did it. I'm sure Mr Google will be better at this type of thing than I.

The images I selected on google came out as .jpg and .gif :S
Does that means they just copied them over into paint or something and saved them as those filetypes?

Gah! Too technical for this early in the morn.

as that is a file holder for the mathematical information that creates the picture. You see images created with vector shapes in programs such as illustrator, flash or Xara. What most people post here is actually a basic form od cell shading. They create a path with the pen tool and then fill the shape with colour and continue like that, tracing over their image until they have an image made up of lots of coloured shaped.
There is no 'vectoring' involved because I doubt many of them have huge gigabyte files made up of layers of vector shapes but rather a few layers of traced shapes just like old fashioned cell shading in comic illustration.
Vector imaging is quite complicated and is used in art and design as a means to transport designs to different people allowing them the freedom to edit at any size. b3ta 'vectoring' is tracing over a picture with coloured shapes and sometimes strokes for the less lazy ones to create a coloured traced image. Some wits are now calling these images 'vexels' which you can google because I've said too much and already will be upsetting people.
vexels take time and patience and create fantastic results. Pressing a filter button then posting the results on b3ta is a frivolous waste of thread. You are saying, "look, I pressed a button and the algorithm made me this". It's talentless shite that anyone can do. It'll even get scorned at deviantart.
