I'm going to put a bike helmet strap inside so it's more wearable and then i'm going to let it get dusty in a cupboard
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 13:48, archived)
# I got a couple of cheap masks from a shop for the base then papier mache'd over them.
They both started out nearly-flat. I built them up with card and stuffed the structure with newspaper to strengthen it. The brow and cheeks were rolled up newspaper. I used diluted PVA glue as the liquid for the papier mache - I never use the traditional flour/water mix because it takes too long to dry and doesn't have any flexible strength when it's dry (it can also start to smell after a while).
(, Thu 17 Dec 2009, 13:56, archived)
# Fair enough
I find traditional papier maché is probably more reliable when worn however- PVA gets sticky very quickly from sweat when it's against skin.
A mix of latex and fine fiberglass is probably best but a bit expensive.
Nice work though, they look quite authentic.

It also has a marvellously disturbing Lolita moment with a young Juliette Lewis saying to the "pervert" Tarantino "Would you lick my pussy ... please ... ?" to wind him up, to which he amusingly pathetically replies "Um ... sure ... ".

I also had the great fortune to see Dusk Til Dawn knowing nothing at all about it other than the recommendation "Watch this film, it's great. I can't remember who's in it, but it's good."
