that's the true beauty of the whole thing. when you see it you'll understand. you'll understand... and a small part of you will always long for the simpler, more innocent, time in your life when you didn't.
urban silliness says that if you google for google you destroy the internets/universe

that's kind of funny, because i've always looked at b3ta as a "proto-4chan" in a lot of ways. there's more of a focus on personal creativity here, and it isn't anonymous, but other than that it's close. at least in structure, if not community.

I went for training on the Google Search Appliance recently.
The guy doing the training was demonstrating how it works: "OK, lets say we do a search for 'Google'..."
I had to stop myself from interrupting him to warn against it. It turns out nothing happened, although that's probably because it was only a GSA, and not Google-proper.

I couldn't decide whether to do teh old 'same outfit at the big event' type clash,
or actually have them opposing colours of a team type clash, in the end I went for the one that took less work.
Besides, that furrowed pout, it just goes so well, and unshopped BTW, presumably the model thought he was 'hanging tough' but he just looks camply annoyed!

I'm getting old and I don't like it.
I was talking to someone yesterday about going to the cinema as a teenager and it occurred to me that they had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Sitting in the balcony? Talking through the first movie? The whole cinema laughing as one at the Tom & Jerry (or whatever was on that week) cartoon before the main film started? *sigh*

Their version of aluminium is more accurate to the original than ours.
Also use of the word "fall" for autumn is far older and more "English" than, well, "autumn".
I expect the ancient Romans, Germans, French, Angles and Saxons are all turning in their graves every time they hear some chav say "innit" or a business person use the term "idea shower", or, indeed, any one of us talk or express theirselves, because of our bastardization of the language.

ah yea... where the hell is that ? Sadly this reflects the average americans general knowledge "
