I think you'll find that the article is a pisstake, and Lee's 'modesty' is, and always has been, a joke about his fame - or lack of it.

I'm not the biggest fan, but unlike Gervais (a total cunt) who is almost singularly obsessed with fame, I think most of Stewart Lee's stuff is based on a carefully staged persona.

Flippin' loved that soundtrack when I was a young 'un. Still like it now, in a slightly embarassing, nostalgic way.

Same applies to the film. The guy who played Sammi Curr died in real life. I wonder if playing the movie backwards will bring him back as a vengeful actor/dancer?

the article is an explanation of the video, it gives its significance, background, a historical setting and a context. If yougo straight to the video and you're not knowledgeable or interested in history then all you get is 'Oooh- what? Ahh? Eh?'- not everyone will be able to make simple common sense out of a historical video without some introduction. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be disagreeable but things that are immediately apparent to you aren't always apparent to others,

That's better. Personally though I think I owe the guys at A&E alot. May have to wait, but on the whole they do a fantastic job. Big up emergency doctors, nurses, porters, cleaners etc. Those guys rock.

That is until I saw the floating* social media crap then closed it. Java has been disabled by default in one of the more recent updates. I'm not sure if it applies to your OSX version (hence my comment about the round buttons) but it's worth looking into.

actually I've used my expensive 17" macbook pro so much that it's classy aluminium body has totally lost it's once luxurious lustre. I only use my pc for games. My mac boots about 3 times faster and does everything, bar games, just as well if not better than my pc. Cubase on my PC crashed numerous times (including critical times when I was making stuff for uni) because, essentially, the ASIO drivers, which are a necessary software workaround to allow advanced audio apps to directly use the processor, are relatively unstable. Macs have "core audio", a much more reliable hardware solution.

It's almost like you're both linux using autistic bosom buddies who hold hands.

Anyway, the real reason I bough a mac is because much of the course content at uni required software that was only available, or usable to the degree required by the course, on macs (namely Supercollider and MaxMSP/Jitter).

This is a normal post Well I've had few problems with Cubase and ASIO
Also, in terms of processor power, RAM and a fancy RAID config - I got a lot more for 800 quid than I would with apple. It's nice to run 20 instances of Massive just for fun.

ps I used to use an Akai S3000XL. Ahh the memories. I still have an A Station - the sub bass patch is still useful.
